Witches who do marry can expect to raise a family of Witchlings. However, this is not a guarantee. Sometimes, Magical ability is transmitted genetically, but there have been many powerful Witches through history who were born to Nons. The proper term for these Witches is Dreamers, to distinguish them from Blood Witches, those to whom Magical power is passed from their parents. The Magical life can offer more challenges to Dreamers, since absolute secrecy towards Nons must be maintained at all times.
