thunder was one of the only phenomena loud enough to be heard inside the dome. the first time jisung experienced a thunderstorm, his father had a heart attack during it - thanks to the dome's healers, he lived. as a child he'd always been terrified that he or his parents would suffer the same thing whenever there was a storm.

he now knew that fear was irrational, that it was just an unlucky coincidence. that didn't take away the pure terror he associated with the loud, booming sound.

when the first clap of thunder shook the dome, jisung awoke with a start. usually he would run straight over to felix's house and the other would comfort him. his boyfriend was the only one that knew about his fear - not even his parents, or chan and changbin, two of his best friends, knew.

but felix wasn't there. the redhead's mother, who had been sitting at the table, filling out some paperwork, had told him he'd gone out somewhere with chan.

only one of the two knew that the "somewhere" was at another one of those stupid rebel meetings.

'felix, hurry up! i can't be late to my own event!'

the two ran through central from the bus stop, passing once-busy shops that closed for the night and running through eerily empty streets. there were so many thoughts running through felix's mind that when the storm started, he didn't even think about what it could mean for a certain someone back in district 9.

the brothers stopped outside the meeting place. it was dusty, old, and empty, and conveniently, a place that they had given up on having 24/7 surveillance on. felix quirked an eyebrow - why weren't they going inside?

chan stared at the door for a second, as if gathering his courage, before he turned to felix. 'okay, so, there's this guy. woojin. we're friends and all, but i think he maybe, possibly, kinda, sorta, probably, definitely likes me, and he's been trying to flirt with me and he asked me out yesterday, and i said i'd think about it.'

'so what's the problem? woojin's nice.'

bang chan jabbed his thumb towards his chest. 'me. this person. horrendously aro-ace, remember?'

'why do you you always use such weird words for emphasis-'

'just keep him away from me. i only wanna be friends.' and with that, chan pushed his brother in front of him and into the building. there was no backing out now.
