Warnings: still some feelings but I PROMISE, it gets better! :)
You were taken back to the lab in the Avengers Tower to run some tests. Your overall health was fine but there was just a little hiccup, a small part of HYDRA was still inside your head. You were like a completely different person, at least for now. On the other hand, Bucky is still unconscious in the hospital.
You woke up to the sound of beeping machines with its wires attached to you body, you looked over your shoulder to find Bruce and Tony staring at the monitor in front of them. You pulled yourself up from the bed and removed the patches off your body.
"y/n--" Bruce noticed you and tried to help you up, but you refused. You were scared of everybody after being tortured for almost a year.
"How ya feeling sunshine?" Sunshine was your nickname the team gave you because you were always so happy and bubbly everyday but now you were the complete opposite.
You looked down to your wrist, the wounds from the handcuffs that HYDRA put on you everyday was still so fresh and so raw, you run your thumb along it gently, tear drops falling on them making it sting a little, the memories of HYDRA was still vivid in your mind.
"I'm fine." your hair covered the side of your face where Tony and Bruce couldn't see you. They noticed your wrist as your tear drops fall on them.
"We can fix that." Tony said as he sits down next to you making the bed sink a little.
"How's Bucky?" you completely ignored his question.
"He's fine but still unconscious." Bruce paused. "He's under good hands, let's focus on you for now y/n--" he gave a reassuring smile.

It's been almost a week since the incident, Bucky was still in a coma and you still have reoccurring dreams about HYDRA and Bucky. You requested Jarvis to lock down your floor, basically shutting everybody out except for Steve and Nat but they still had to ask before they entered, of course you felt bad but you thought it would be better if you stayed out of their hair.
You sat on the couch in the living room and watched the sunrise, the sun peeked over the building beneath, the sky had now become pink like a sea of cotton candy, with the light of the sun coloring the clouds above with a pinkish hue. It was beautiful but not as beautiful as Bucky's eyes, you looked over to the emptiness in the room, wishing he was here but he wasn't, tears brimmed your eyes.
You were sitting there for the whole night thinking about Bucky, your eyelids felt heavy, you laid back and took a little nap.
"Good afternoon y/n, Ms. Romanoff would like to see you, she said it was urgent." Jarvis' voice woke you up from your nap.
"Let her in--" you sit up and throw on one of Bucky's hoodie sitting on the couch in the floor where you both shared, the smell of his cologne still lingers on it.
The doors of the elevator opened and Nat stepped out of it with a smile plastered on her face. "Hey sunshine--" you gave her small smile.
"What's so urgent?" your eyebrows furrowed, your hand wrapped around you elbow.
"Oh yeah, uhmm, the doctor said Bucky is going to wake up anytime now." she paused. "And I'm here to drag you out of this hell hole."
"I--I'd rather stay here really, you guys go ahead." you looked down to the scars on your wrist that reminds you of what happened that day. You didn't visit Bucky at all, you were too afraid to see him after what you've done.
"y/n, you've got to let that go." she lifts your head up. "You and I know that you are the first person Bucky wants to see when he opens his eyes."
"I--I-" you shuddered.
"y/n, you're going and I don't care!" Nat tried to wrap her arm around you but you stepped back. After what happened, you were a little paranoid of people, you didn't want anyone to touch you or talk to you.
"I'll go--" you curved up the side of your lips a little while facing the floor.
"Right--" she looked a little worried, the happy and bubbly y/n was not here today. "Let's go then."
You arrived at the basement, everybody's face lit up when they saw you, especially Steve, he was like a big brother to you, he hates seeing you like this, he misses the old y/n. "Hey sunshine!" Steve walked up to you with his arms out wanting to hug you, you stepped back as he approached. "Right--" he lets out a sigh.
You felt bad, you thought that it was time to face your fears, so you put out your right hand with the palm facing the side. "Hey Stevie--" a smile plastered on your face. Everybody was shocked, they took turns to shake your hand and was very happy with your progression.

Seeing Bucky on the hospital bed was hard for you. His eyes still shut, his lips slightly chapped due to the dry air in the room, blanket that only went up to his waist, lines running through his body. The doctor and the rest surrounded him while the doctor explained Bucky's status, you sat in the corner of the room, looking at Bucky in between the spaces of Steve and Sam who was standing next to the bed.
"He'll wake up in the next hour or so--" The doctor said before leaving the room. You quickly looked down at your thighs as the Steve tried to look for you.
"Hey y/n--" the couch sank as he sat down next to you. "So how you feeling?" you drag your gaze up to his eyes.
"I'm not sure--" you tried to break a smile.
"It'll get better I promise." he threw his arm around your shoulder and you accepted it.
"Hey! Not fair!" Nat exclaims from across the room looking a little sad. She came and sat down next to you and moved Steve's arm so she could wrap you around his. The sight of them fighting made you laugh, it's been awhile since you genuinely smiled and it never felt better.
"Steve--" Nat said and the room went quiet. Steve and Nat shot up from their seat as they saw Bucky's eyes open for the first time in almost a week, you stood up but just stayed where you were with Sam in front of you.
"Hey Buck--" Steve said as Bucky looked around the room for the sign of you.
"Where's y/n!"Bucky shot up from his bed looking worried. Tears welled up and glistening in his eyes, his bright blue orbs surrounded by redness. Those were the eyes that you last seen Bucky in, your vision blurred by your tears, throat tingling as a cry is about to form.
Sam stepped aside and all eyes was on you. You grasped a handful of Bucky's hoodie that you were wearing, shaking out of fear.
"Y/n--"Bucky tried to lean over with his hand supporting his body up from the bed but you just stood there. "Y/n, come here--please--" tears escaped the corner of his eye. This was exactly what you were scared of, his face. Flashbacks of his face when you drove your knife into him was reappearing in your head like a movie. "y/n--y/n please--it's me." he reached out his hand to signal you to come over, his dressing on his shoulder exposed as the hospital gown fell off his right shoulder.
"I'm sorry--I--I have to go!" voices flooding your head, you quickly covered your ears with your hands and ran out of the room.
"Y/N NO!" his voice muffled into your ears.
