I've never walked down the stairs slower. I knew that as soon as I had finished descending this staircase I would have to face my biggest problem, Mira Hale, my girlfriend. I think. Things have been exceptionally obscure between us lately. The only that is clear to me about us is that I love her and that I would do anything to get things back to how they used to be. But I knew that she had already given up on us when I saw her philandering with the new guy. "Hey. Jonah right? I'm Jonah." I said with a little jealousy in my voice. I turned to Mira to give her a kiss but she turned her head away from me while making a sulky, but cute pout with her lips.
"I thought you weren't coming." She said with an emotionless look on her face.
"My night opened up." I said trying to charm her, but it didn't work.
"Good to know hanging out with me was your backup plan." She mumbled. I guess I deserved that. I should start putting her first. I wish I could put her first.
"I'm playing insidious." Said Kayla.
To my surprise, Mira cuddled up next to me during the movie. The feeling I get when I have her under my arm is undescribable. I wish things could be this easy for us all the time.
"Best movie ever!" Yelled nick.
"I've watched this movie so many times I literally can't enjoy it anymore." Mira said.
"First time I've ever seen it and I loved it." Said Jonah.
"Well, everything's good the first time." Mira said.
"Yeah? how was your first time?" I asked her. I lived to see her perfect smile and that was the first time in awhile she smiled because of me.
"Well, you would know. Wouldn't you?" She answered.
"I'm officially turned on. Let's go home." I said half joking and half not. I hadn't touched this girl in weeks. She was punishing me, I'm sure of it.
The majority of the drive home was quiet. Before I knew it we were parked on her driveway.
"Okay bye." She said. It was the most awkward goodbye to ever exist.
"Stop. What's going on?" I questioned. "No I love you, no goodbye kiss, or even a decent goodbye?" I asked a little frightened to hear her response. Instead to replying, she stepped into the car for a quick second, kissed me and ran off. She was the only one who had the power to break my heart and every time she pushed me away she did exactly that. All of a sudden she stopped and ran back to the car and kissed me again, but this time it was real. I wrapped my arms around her to prevent her from running away again.
"I will always love you Jonahander." She said.
"I love you too little girl." I said. "I have to get home though." I felt her grip on me losen. She looked up at me with her beautiful black eyes.
"I know. Go. I'll see you tomorrow." She whispers.
"Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow Mi." I said. I watched her walk inside and couldn't help but imagine how could our lives would be if some things changed. But things don't change. Life only gets worse. The only thing keeping my shitty world from crumbing is Mira.
