Warriors: The Forgotten Prophecy: Sunrise

CHAPTER TWO

Sunkit pounced on a ball of moss. She felt teeth prick her pelt. She turned and saw Applekit.

"Gotcha!" Purred Applekit.

"Hi want to play moss-ball?"

"Sure!" Soon Applekit, Sunkit, Foxkit, and Flamekit all were playing. While Glowkit and Rabbitkit stared off from a distance. Applekit looked up as the heard a patrol coming through the thorn tunnel. Mothchase's creamy fur entered the camp followed by Eclipsetail, a silver tabby she cat and Honeycloud, a light yellow she cat. The three she cats looked devastated.

"They took Adderpaw!" Honeycloud wailed.

"Not my kit!" Amberblaze cried.

"All cats who can catch their own prey meet under SkyTree for a clan meeting!" Skystar yowled. All the cats fell silent.

"I have just heard, the horrible news."

"Skystar we must plan an attack!" Amberblaze yowled. Yowls of agreement filled the camp. Cloudspots stood outside the nursery with Sunkit wrapped around her tail.

"We will plan an attack for tonight! But first, I have an annoucement! Rabbitkit, Foxkit, and Applekit, please climb up here." The three excited kits climbed up the tree and sat on a thick branch, called High Ledge, that Skystar was sitting on. "Applekit, step forward." The small brown kit stepped forward, chest puffed. "May StarClan rest their eyes on the apprentice and give him his new name, From now one Applekit will be known as Applepaw!

"Applepaw! Applepaw! Applepaw!" Cheered the clan.

"Ebonyheart, you are loyal, cunning, and a great hunter, I hope you pass these skills onto Applepaw."Applepaw hopped down and touched noses with Ebonyheart.

"Rabbitkit, step forward." The large for his age, light brown tabby with dark stripes padded confidently forward.

"From now on, Rabbitkit shall be known as Rabbitpaw!

"Rabbitpaw! Rabbitpaw! Rabbitpaw!" The clan cheered again.

"Ashfang, you are fast, and the best tree climber in the clan, pass your knowledge onto this apprentice." Rabbitpaw jumped off Sky Ledge and landed next to Ashfang, the sleek, skinny, brown tom touched his nose to the new apprentice. Foxkit squirmed impatiently.

"Foxkit, step forward!" The tiny ginger she cat nervously stepped close to the end of the Sky Ledge.

"From now on Foxkit will be known as Foxpaw!"

"Foxpaw! Foxpaw! Foxpaw!" The clan cheered.

"Mothchase! You are fast and our best hunter! I wish for you to pass your knowledge down to your apprentice." Foxpaw leaped off the tall branch and landed awkwardly on her back paws. She quickly trotted forward and touched noses with the thin cream color she cat.

"Tonight we shall take back our apprentice, Adderpaw!" The clan yowled in approval. "There will be 3 patrols! Rivershine, take Amberblaze, Leafwing, Stonepaw, and Birchscar. Streamsplash, take Cloverspots, Eclispsetail, Amberblaze, and Dappledawn! Everyone else will stay here in case those foxhearts attack camp. Rivershine, take your patrol by river, and Streamsplash take your patrol and attack by Moorland, try driving them into the forest! Good luck Warriors!" The clan yowled as they ran our of camp.

The new apprentices and their mentors started walking past Sunkit and Cloudspots on the way out to the forest.

"Applepaw, how about I show you the forest part of our territory?" Ebonyheart asked as he padded towards the bramble tunnel.

"Oh, yes!" He mewed. Rabbitpaw and Ashfang walked side by side right behind Ebonyheart and Applepaw.

"I was thinking I could show you the Moorland part of our territory?" The sleek brown tom asked.

"Sure." Rabbitpaw mutterd as they padded through the tunnel.

"Foxpaw! I have a great idea! We should go to the stream! You could maybe get a fishing lesson." Mothchase chirped.

"Yes!" Foxpaw said excitedly as the last pair left camp.

"I can't wait to be an apprentice." Sighed Sunkit.

"You'll be one soon, only 1 more moon!" Cloudspots purred.

The sound of warriors returning filled Sunkit's ears as she ran of the nursery. Yowls of victory filled her ears as Adderpaw was brought into the Medicine Cat Den, he glanced around as he looked in Sunkit's direction she realized his left eye was gushing blood and that it was looking in a different direction than the other.
