Warriors: The Forgotten Prophecy: Sunrise

CHAPTER SIX

"All cats who can catch their own prey gather under SkyTree for a clan meeting!" Yowled Skystar as Sunpaw and Foxpaw walked together under the branch. Rivershine's blue gray pelt raced forward and jumped onto a lower branch. Sunpaw never realized how Rivershine's muzzle was getting dotted with gray. "SunClan, I have a few announcements!" The clan fell silent as Skystar looked over his clan. Nettlecloud has run away."

"What? How could an elder run away?" Amberblaze's mew sounded over every other cat's voice.

"We may be old but we can still run!" Voleheart's voice snarled from the back of the crowd.

"Please look for her if your on patrol." The SunClan leader concluded. "Also, we have a new apprentice, Glowkit step forward." The kit that was supposed to be apprenticed 2 moons ago stepped forward. She had grown very large she was double Sunpaw's size. As she padded with confidence past the small golden tabby.

"Hello sister." She hissed her muscles rippled underneath her pelt. "Hello everyone." She snarled as she jumped onto High Ledge. "Father." Glowkit hissed.

"May StarClan-" Skystar started.

"No." Glowkit yowled.

"You may not speak to me like that!" Snarled Skystar showing teeth. The Clan looked on startled by Skystar's bratty daughter.

"I will not listen to a leader that is breaking the warrior code by not turning me into a warrior!" Skystar's eyes flashed with pain but it was immediately replaced with rage.

"If you do not stop I will send you to exile!" The large gray tom screeched.

"Send me then!" Hissed Glowkit as she launched herself at Skystar sending them both off the front of High Ledge. The clan moved back as the large kit and leader fought. Blood splashed as Glowkit scratched Skystar's eye. Sunpaw couldn't bear to watch anymore. She leaped into the fight, landing on Glowkit's back. "Traitor!" She yowled as she clawed clumps of gray fur off of Glowkits back. Glowkit turned around to see her sister.

"Ha! I'm the traitor! I didn't ditch my littermate! I didn't take all the attention away! And I was not apprenticed before my sister and still called a kit!" Screeched Glowkit as she lunged at Sunpaw going for her eyes. Sunpaw got pinned almost immediately. Glowkit unsheathed blood stained claws. "Hmm I wonder what your purple eyes would look like smashed into the ground!" Yowled Glowkit. Glowkit reached forward but Sunpaw rolled out from under her and tripped her sister. Glowkit yowled as Sunpaw leaped on top of her.

"For Skystar!" She yowled as she clawed Glowkit's eyes. Glowkit yowled with rage as she thrashed underneath her blood dripping out of her eye. Skystar stood up he looked fine until Sunpaw saw his left eye. It had been clawed out, scarlet blood dripped out of his closed eyelid.

"You are not my daughter," hissed Skystar to Glowkit "I send you into exile." He paused "Your name is now Scorch. You a not a SunClan cat. Sunpaw is not your sister. Goldenblaze is not your mother." He turned around to the rest of the clan. "If you see this... This rogue! On SunClan territory you shall kill her." Scorch's eye's flashed with pain as she ran out of camp. Icewhisker and Sagepaw darted forward putting cobweb on his eye.

Sunpaw laid in the apprentice den with poultice rubbed into her back leg where Scorch had bitten her. A ginger head popped into the apprentice den carrying a rabbit.

"Hi Sunpaw," mewed the shy ginger tom. He dropped the rabbit near her paws. "Would you like to share?"

"Of course, Flamepaw," Sunpaw replied happy to get some food in her empty belly. Flamepaw's eyes lit up with warmth. Then she remembered Foxpaw's words.
