The swift cold air swirls around me as I frantically search for the one thing that has meaning in my life. The one thing I haven't screwed up, or ruined, or lost. The one person who I love more than anything in the world.

"Destiny?" I scream out into oblivion, the darkness tightening around me like a noose around a neck.

I must find my daughter. I cannot lose her, I will not.

My footsteps echo loudly as I run around the infinite, dark void surrounding me. I am going nowhere, and yet I still continue my desperate search to find my daughter.

"Daddy?"

I freeze at the sound of my life, at the voice of my most beautiful creation calling out my name in fear. I glance left.

no one.

A sharp cry echoes through the darkness, increasing my heart rate as I am desperate to find my vanished daughter. I hopefully glance to my right.

not a single soul.

I groan in frustration as another cry from Destiny escapes but I cannot find her. I glance behind me, praying she will be standing right there flashing a bright smile and radiating that beautiful, positive energy she always does.

no Destiny.

As I turn back around to face in front of me, desperately trying to hold on to the tears that are threatening to fall, my heart shatters into countless tiny pieces as the sound of my baby screaming rings through my ears.

Where is she?

Where is Destiny?

Who took her from me?

"Justin."

I slowly look up at the sound of my name and wipe my tears away only to find Ariana staring back at me, covered in blood.

"A-Ariana?" I gasp as I slowly move closer to her, holding out my hand.

"Justin." Ariana watches me with broken, tear-filled eyes as I take one step closer.

"Justin." The parts of smooth skin on her body were now replaced with large, dark bruises covering every inch of her skin. A knife jammed in her side replaces a clean, white shirt with a deep red one.

"Justin."

I cry out as I watch Ariana stare back at me with a gaze so chilling, goosebumps involuntarily consume my body. I try to claw my way to Ariana, to help her, be by her side, hold her and kiss her and never let her go, but something seems to stop me. An invisible hand wraps around my waist, pulling me the opposite way Ariana is. I cry out in agony and fear as I watch Ariana slowly disappear from my sight, but not before I notice a small six year old girl appearing by her side, the same dark bruises attacking her body and the same deep red replacing her clean clothes. She screams out my name in pain, fear, and heartbreak as I am dragged further away from my child and the love of my life before I am swept away into the darkness for good, my thoughts and feelings now replaced with emptiness.

Darkness and emptiness is all I have left, but not before two beautiful voices call out my name one last time.

"Justin!"

I gasp awake as I am snapped out of my nightmare covered in sweat and tears. I look at my surroundings wide-eyed as two beautiful angels stare back at me with a worried expression plastered on their faces.

"Are you okay?" I watch as Ariana gently uses a paper towel to wipe the remaining sweat glistening on my forehead before she flashes an intent look of worry and confusion towards me.

"Oh my god Ariana," I cry out before reaching out and wrapping my arms around her small body. I bring her closer to me and pull her in a tight hug as my worries and fears are drowned out by the touch of my fingertips on her skin. My heart rate starts to decrease as her soft voice fills my ears, bringing me back to safety. I breathe out a sigh of relief as I stroke a strand of her away from her face before I turn to look at my beautiful daughter.

"Destiny you're here, you're here and you're safe and you're not bleeding," I uncontrollably cry out before wrapping her in a tight hug too. Destiny hesitantly returns the hug, continuing to watch me with a puzzled expression shining in her gorgeous, emerald eyes. "Daddy are you okay?"

I quickly nod my head before I swallow and kiss the top of her head. "Yes darling I'm fine. Just had a small nightmare, that's it. Why don't you look out the window, we're almost home."

Destiny nods her head before moving away from me and switches her gaze out the window.

Ariana slides closer to me before taking my hand in hers and running her other hand through my hair. "Are you sure you're okay?"

I lick my lips before answering. "Yeah. It was just horrifically realistic. It felt so real, I was so scared."

"What was it about?"

"Uhm. Well. Just that you and Destiny were in trouble and I couldn't do anything to help you."

"It seemed pretty bad. You were crying out in your sleep. Are you sure you're okay?"

I watch Ariana intently as her shining eyes are full with worry. No one has ever cared as much as she does. I reach my hand up and softly stroke her cheek before whispering, "yeah, I'm sure I'm fine."

Ariana flashes me a small, shy smile before moving her head to look down at the floor. Before I overthink it, I lift her chin up to pull her face closer to mine. I softly graze her lips with mine before pulling her in closer and smacking my lips onto hers.

Ariana is taken by surprise but quickly gets over it as she raises her hands to run them through my hair and kisses me back.

We softly pull apart before watching each other in silence, panting, waiting for the other to speak. Before my mind has a chance to think it over, my mouth takes control and lets out the three words most painful, or beautiful, known to mankind.

"I love you," I breathe.

wait, what?!?
