I ran towards my home. I ran so fast I thought my heart would jump out of my chest. Before I knew it, I was already shifted back and I was putting some clothes on.

I could still feel him, did he really follow me? Oh please no.

I started pacing back and forth my small house while I waited for my impending doom. I could feel the pull getting stronger, that meant that he was nearer.

Oh goddess, please no!

My wolf was begging me to calm down, but how could I? I was about to meet my supposed mate face to face. How in the world could I calm down?

What face am I supposed to show after our brief encounter earlier? And why's he even here? Is he here to reject me?

Pain sank in my heart at the thought. It makes sense after all, right? He must know that I'm an omega, so he's here to reject me. Of course.

'He's here.' my wolf informed me and I snapped out of my reveries.

His smell, oh goddess. How am I going to survive? He smelled so good, it was intoxicating me, making my knees weak, making me weak.

He was coming closer. My knees betrayed me and gave away all strength so I sat down on my bed.

Then, the door opened. My head jerks to the direction of it and that's when I see him, his eyes a glowing golden pair as they roam the place before finally settling into mine. My heart was throbbing, I was shaking. From what, I don't know.

I've always been fine with living in my small and humble abode, but now that he was here, I couldn't help but feel... ashamed. Ugh, what's wrong with me? I shouldn't even care what he thinks. He probably hates me.

We stared at each other for what seemed like an eternity, but I was too intimidated to keep looking so I broke eye-contact fast.

If he's here to reject me, can't he do it a little bit faster? It's okay, I can take the pain. I'll be alright. I've been fine on my own for so many years, a small rejection can't hurt me now.

"Wh-why are you here?" I ask, though it sounded more of an accusation than a question. I could feel my wolf mentally rolling her eyes at my attitude.

I didn't fail to notice how the glint in his eyes changed and I knew I used the wrong tone. The dim light allowed me to see the smirk that formed, but not a happy one. It sent shivers down my spine because although he looked unbelievably handsome, he looked terribly dangerous.

Whoever my mate is, I bet he's someone no one would want to mess with. I mean, have you seen his muscles?

However, instead of answering my question, his eyes roam around my cabin once more before he looks at me again. I couldn't very well read the emotion in them, but there's one thing that I caught when he laid eyes on me. Disgust.

What did that even mean?

"We leave tomorrow." was all he said and he turned away.

What? He's not rejecting me? He's taking me out of this place? Does he know I'm an omega? He probably doesn't know.

Before he could leave, I race after him. "Wait!"

Luckily for me, he halts, but kept his back to me.

"Why?" I ask, clearly confused.

"Unless you want to stay here, either way it's fine by me."

"Don't you know I'm an omega?" I reveal to him, hating the weak voice that laced my words.

This time, he takes a step and turns towards me, a sick, cold smile arraying his beautiful face.

"Exactly why I'm bringing you with me." he laughs, but there is no humour in it. He sounded purely cruel. "This trash of a place doesn't have the right to hurt you," he walks towards me, each nearing step sounded like thunder booming in my ears, my heart having a heartbeat overload. What's he saying?

Instinctively, I shy away from him.

Everything happened so fast and the next thing I knew, I was against the wall, one arm pinned up. My eyes widened and my voice caught in my throat. The pain struck next, his grip was like iron and although I tried to move it, I couldn't.

I looked up to him only to be shocked by the emotion in his eyes. He was angry.

"Only I do. You? My mate?" he scoffs bitterly before laughing sarcastically. "An omega for a mate, I'm really cursed am I?" he says and tightens the grip. I can't help but wince at the pain.

"Th-that hurts." I winced weakly. My heart was aching, I could feel my wolf retreating. I expected that he would hurt me, but damn. It really hurt, did it?

A sadistic smile graced his lips and shivers went down my spine. I almost scream when his grip tightened more, I could feel his nails dig into my skin. I tried to resist and push him away, but it was useless.

Tears were starting to form, but I fought hard for them to stay in my eyes. He already hated me for my status, he already hated me, I can't give him anymore reasons to hate me. I can't make myself seem any weaker than how I seemed now.

"Oh, sweetheart, this is nothing."

Finally, he lets go and my other hand immediately rubs it, trying to ease the pain. It was only then that I noticed that my hand was bleeding and looking blue. Again, the pain struck late.

My mate broke my freaking arm.

He turns around and starts walking away slowly. Watching his back, I couldn't help but replay one question in my head.

"One question!" I called after him.

For the second time, he stopped at the door and turned around.

"Will you reject me?" I ask, ignoring the lump that was forming in my throat. I fought the tears that were threatening to fall. Don't cry, please Hannah, don't cry.

His green eyes looked like orbs of ice that stared straight through me. A sadistic smirk pulls up his lip and he puts his arm on my right side, blocking my escape route. "Reject you? That's an easy escape, don't you think?" his voice was as cold as his eyes, as his heart. "The moon goddess gave me you and I'll simply pay her for her kindness." his tone was laced with venom, hatred and disgust. "If she thinks that I can ever accept an Omega as my mate, she's damned wrong."
