Louis was not looking forward to this at all. The ride to the movies was thirty minutes there and thirty minutes back. By then it would be seven o’clock and he’d only have thirty minutes with Harry until he had to pick up the couple again. Having a brother who couldn’t drive really sucked sometimes.
“Do I look alright?” The boy in question asked, hoping desperately his brother approved of his outfit. He was wearing a navy blue long-sleeved polo, dark brown jeans, and some brand of sneakers that Louis wasn’t aware of.
Louis shrugged. “You look fine to me. Now can we hurry up and leave?” It was obvious from his tone that he wanted to get out of the house.
“Sure, yeah, let’s go.” Liam said, grabbing his wallet and heading out the door. Louis hurried up after him, almost running to his car.
“You know, for someone who doesn’t have plans, you sure do seem to be in a rush.” Liam pointed out, getting into the backseat of Louis’ car.
Louis rolled his eyes. “You should just be thankful I’m driving you.” He muttered, making Liam shut up. On the ride over to Danielle’s house, Louis went over the rules of going out on movie dates. Always pay for her ticket, offer if she wants popcorn and candy, pay for just about everything because it’s polite and the manly thing to do. Liam thanked God that he hadn’t sent his Christmas money yet, so he still had quite a few dollars left.
Danielle was greeted with a hug from Liam and a curt ‘hello, hurry up and get in,’ from Louis, which she speedily did. Louis decided he liked this girl.
The ride there was spent with different songs playing on the radio, but mostly Liam and Danielle talking. Louis rolled his eyes. They just screamed ‘young’ and ‘innocent’ that he couldn’t help it. He also couldn’t help but think they were kind of cute with one another. Okay, very cute, but he wouldn’t admit to that.
Once they got to the movie theatre, Liam sternly reminded Louis to pick them up at eight o’clock. Louis nodded, mumbling a whatever, and drove off. He knew he was probably driving over the speed limit, but he couldn’t care less. He wanted to see Harry! He looked at the clock and was happy to see it was only six twenty-five. That was five extra minutes he could spend with Harry.
Unfortunately, the traffic was absolutely terrible. Louis didn’t get back to his neighbourhood until seven ten. Only twenty minutes now…
He rushed out of the car, knocking on Harry’s door. Almost as if he was waiting right by it, Harry opened it in the next second.
“Hey, baby,” Harry smiled. Louis was used to ‘baby cakes’, but ‘baby’? The word did funny things to him. Louis wrapped his arms around the younger boy, the two of them embracing warmly.
“I was thinking that maybe you could come over to my house after you pick Liam up. I know it’ll be late, but we don’t have school tomorrow, and I really want to see you for longer.”
Louis brought a hand to Harry’s curls, massaging and rubbing them. It was his weakness, Louis knew. Harry let out a soft sigh, only confirming Louis’ thoughts.
