Chapter 5: B.F.B
With Valentine's Day right across the corner and him and Harry growing impossibly closer, Louis was starting to go out of his mind. There was already pressure about who Louis Tomlinson was taking out on V-Day. He'd even heard a few girls talking about it in the hallway today. Though many girls and even guys were staring to take guesses on who he planned on going out with, Louis knew none of them would actually guess correctly. He planned on making a move on Harry. Louis was pretty positive that Harry felt the same way, so why wouldn't he?
He clutched his books tighter, making his wrists turn white. Louis was scared out of his mind. What if someone found out about them? What if Liam did? Would he be very angry?
There was a whole lot of questions in his mind. Ones that he wouldn't know the answer to unless he and Harry were together as a couple. Valentine's was the perfect time to do it, right?
Louis had thought so, but what was he going to say when people asked who he was going out with? Harry Styles? Or that the Tommo had just stayed in? Talk about a reputation ruiner. And Louis wasn't willing to risk his reputation, that had took so long to build up, for love. He couldn't... He wouldn't... But he REALLY wanted to try. Maybe just not on Valentine's Day. Yeah, that was good, Louis could wait. So could Harry, neither were in a rush.
"Have you got a date for Valentine's, yet?"
The voice caused Louis to jump out of his skin, dropping his books on the floor. He hurriedly bent down to picked them up, hoping no one had seen that little slip-up.
"Why so jumpy, Lou? I can't talk to you at school?" Harry's voice was joking, but Louis felt he might be a bit serious, too.
"Of course you can talk to me, Haz. Just don't sneak up on me like that. If I have a heart attack, I won't be able to go anywhere for Valentine's."
Harry smiled. "Sorry, I was just curious. I'll tell you who my date is if you tell me yours."
Louis quite walking to his next class, stopping dead in his tracks. Harry had a date? He was going out with someone who wasn't him? How could he?!
Then he felt incredibly guilty. He shouldn't be mad at Harry, they were only friends after all. Perhaps Louis had been wrong about Harry having feelings for him. He'd misread everything and suddenly he felt very, very stupid.
"I don't have a date yet." He took a deep breath, before resuming his walking.
"Neither do I, I was just playing with you." Harry chuckled heartily, as Louis grimaced. His reaction had given him away, hadn't it? Harry knew he liked him...
"Very funny, Haz. Maybe if we both don't have dates by the fourteenth, we can be each others."
Louis didn't miss the way Harry's eyes lit up. "I'll have to stay single, then." He exclaimed, winking cheekily before walking into his classroom. Louis stared at the spot where Harry had walked off to.
He needed a date... And Harry couldn't be that because he was a dude and that wasn't exactly smiled upon by their peers. Louis'd already had this inner battle with himself, why was he having it again??
With a heavy heart, he walked into his own class, just as the bell rang. He knew what he needed to do.
***
A girl that Louis had never even spoken to before ended up being his date. He took her out to dinner at this really fancy restaurant and paid for her meal. She was nice, and pretty, but Louis wasn't attracted to her. Of course he wasn't, he liked boys. Maybe if he was straight he would've liked her, but he wasn't, so he didn't. Simple as that, really.
