A/N: Triple Update.
......................
“Alright Louis, this is.” Eleanor said, her face lit up with enthusiasm. “When we win, what’re you going to say?”
They’d been going over detail after detail since the beginning of lunch Thursday afternoon, and Louis was starting to get exasperated. Was Eleanor this pathetic? Why did every little thing have to be perfect? Make sure that you wear this exact colour tie, or, don’t ruffle your hair, it makes it look terrible. Louis was driving them both to Eleanor’s house, to do things involved with the Spring Formal. Of course.
Louis recited his tiny speech for the third time today, sighing when Eleanor nodded approvingly.
“Good. Maybe you’re not entirely useless.”
Somehow this got underneath Louis’ skin. Here he was doing all this for Eleanor and she didn’t appreciate him in the slightest. What was this even for? Louis was starting to feel that coming out to the whole school was ten times better than this bullshit.
“You know what, Eleanor? Why don’t you take Andy to the Spring Formal? I’m sure he wouldn’t be as useless as me.” He hissed, stomping on the brakes once they were in front of Eleanor’s house. She looked incredulous and gripped into his arm, leaving fingernial marks from the force of it.
“I will not let you back out of this, Louis. I’ve worked too hard.”
Louis scoffed. “You’ve worked too hard, hm? What do you think I did? Just sat around and made you do all the work? No, because apparently that would be suicide.” He mocked.
Eleanor shook her head, opening her door and getting out of the car. Louis was about to drive away, when she stuck her head inside the window.
“Get out,” she demanded.
“I plan on going home and getting some rest, sorry to disappoint.” Louis said and, yep, there it was. That little (okay it was quite noticeable) edge of sassiness to his voice. Maybe he was a bit more feminine than he thought.
Eleanor’s eyes looked close to bursting out of her sockets. “You have three seconds to get out of this car. If you don’t, I’ll tell all the school that you’re gay and you dated Harry Styles. Your reputation will be ruined!”
“You know what, El? I don’t fucking care anymore. You can tell the whole school about my sexuality. I’m not ashamed of it now. I love Harry and the whole school, world even, can know it. Hell, I’m not even going to be here next year! I’ll be off in college and none of this will even matter.”
“I-I’ll tell everyone about Harry’s dad!” Eleanor was losing her cool.
Louis shook his head. “Why?” he asked, wondering why she would do something so cruel. He didn’t know about Harry’s dad or what he had done to him and his family, but he knew it had been awful. That’s why Harry never talked about it.
“Because you won’t get out of this stupid car!” She yelled, before burying her face into her hands, her chest heaving up and down with suppressed sobs.
