"Okay ma'am you're gonna have to calm down so I can understand what you're saying"
It was now 11 O'clock PM and there was still no sign of Brandon and August. Dream had called and texted Brandon's phone more than a hundred times and there was still no answer. She had called his mother, brother, and a couple of his homeboys, and still no answer. She was now on the phone with the 911 dispatch, who wasn't at all much of a help.
"Yo stop talking and listen PLEASE! I left my son with my mama the other night and when I went back to get him today he was already gone." She explained slower but still frantic.
"Okay do you have any idea where he could be or who he could be with? And how old is the boy? "
"He's 4 years old. My sister told me that my boyfriend had already came to pick him up, but I haven't heard nothin' from him and I've been trying get in touch with him all day!" Dream was now getting frustrated. The woman on the line was so calm and was acting like nothing was wrong, like she didn't understand the seriousness of the situation.
"Okay ma'am if your boyfriend came to pick him up and you know this he's not missing. You should only be calling for emergencies." Dream couldn't believe what she was hearing. How was this not an emergency?! The man that had basically ATTACKED her, takes her son from her mother's house without giving her so much as text message to let her know, and this wasn't an emergency?
"So you telling me that anybody can just come and get my child randomly, but cause' i know em' it's not a emergency? that's bullshit yo -
"Ma'am 24 hours from now you can make an official missing persons report and we will send out an Amber Alert. Until then there's nothing I can do."
The woman hung up before Dream could respond. She felt helpless. She dialed her mother's number to see if she had heard anything from Brandon or his people. Tabatha picked up immediately.
"Ma?!"
"Vicky not answering her and I done blew her phone up. Brione not answering hers either. What the police say?" Her mother answered, getting straight to the point. Vicky was Brandon's mother and Brione was his older sister.
"Man ma they talking bout' some 'they can't do nothing until 24 hours'" Dream was now crying. She had never dealt with anything so nerve wracking when it came to August. She always knew where her son was and who he was with. Any time somebody asked her about her son, she had answers. But now she had no clue what was going on with him and it was killing her.
"Okay Kohima stop crying and breathe. You need to calm down so you can focus." Though Tabatha was just as hysterical as Dream was, she had to remain calm or at least seem like it so she could make sure her daughter was taking the appropriate steps to find her Grandson.
Dream sniffled and took a deep breathe, attempting to calm her nerves.
"Okay ma, I'm finna go over there.""Over where Kohima?" Her mother asked, becoming even more concerned, if it was possible.
"To Vicky hou- Dream stopped as she heard her front door being unlocked, seeing August's happy face walk in wearing a 'Happy Birthday' hat with a balloon animal in hand. Brandon right behind him, holding a candy bag.
Dream shouted and dropped the phone, running over to her baby still crying.
"Mommy what's wrong?" August asked curiously as his mother picked him up, hugging him tightly.
