"You're moving me?" I asked sternly. Both Gavin and I were called to Fowler, disrupting our lunch break. "But why? We're in the middle of a case." Currently, I was working on a case involving a murder of a Manager who worked with one of the facilities that dished out Androids non-stop. Turns out, the manager of the facility was murdered during overtime. Evidence points to one of his closest friends being the murderer, but we have yet to investigate his background.

"Because Reed here requested to work alone." Fowler muttered, his hands still typing on his keyboard with his eyes glued to the screen. I looked over to Reed in disbelief.

"Gavin! What the hell?" I shoved him away from me, my fists clenched at my sides.

"To be blunt. I don't like you. You're annoying and you don't help me at all." He snapped coldly. In the beginning of my career at the DPD, I didn't hate him. I just thought he was a little hard headed. I guess not.

"Fine. Fuck you. Who am I assigned to now, Fowler?" A scowl came out of my mouth as I crossed my arms.

"You're going to be assigned to android homicide cases with Anderson and his android... Cole? I forget his name." His eyes never left the screen. I sighed and nodded my head. I quickly exited the room with Gavin following behind.

"You know. If you weren't so annoying, I would've kept you. Besides, you have a nice ass." Gavin whispered loud enough for only me to hear. I shivered at the thought with being with him.

Gavin walked away to the break room and I walked over to my desk. I plopped myself onto the chair as I buried my face in my hands. I know I should be happy that I left Gavin, but it was just so sudden. And Hank and his android seem nice but I never really got to know them.

"Excuse me? You're detective (l/n), correct?" My thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a slightly feminine voice, but it belonged to that of a male. I rose my head up from my hands to look at the owner of the voice.

It was Hank's Android.

I nodded in response to his question. "Fowler has just informed me that you will be Hank and I's new partner. Nice to meet you!" He exclaimed happily.

The android held his hand out. "My name is Connor. I'm the android sent by Cyberlife." His mouth formed a tiny smile, keeping eye contact with me. I shakily shook his hand, my anger with Gavin still shaking me up. "Nice to meet you, Connor. Is Hank around?" I questioned.

Connor nodded as he let go of my hand. "I'll lead you to him! Just follow me." He started walking and I followed by his side. He was considerably taller than me, maybe 6 inches taller. I never realized how detailed Cyberlife tends to make their models. His face had moles and slight freckles, and he was super cute.

But of course, he's an android so he can't really feel emotions, right? Of course not.

Connor opened a door and let me in first. "Thank you." I muttered. I walked into the room, only to see Hank on top of Gavin, with Gavin struggling to get Hank off of him.

A cluster of curses were coming from this lovely duo, both meant for the other.

"Hank! You stink of booze!" Connor exclaimed, rushing over to the pair of detectives. He pried Hank away from Gavin, as Gavin was on the floor, panting heavily.

"What the fuck, Anderson? You're too drunk and too weak to finish the fight yourself, huh? You're so weak, that you need your precious little tin can to save you!" Gavin yelled. I had enough of him already.

"Shut the fuck up Reed! You were the one on the ground, struggling to get Hank off of you!" I screamed at him. I rushed up to him and slapped him right on his left cheek. The blood soon rushed to where the impact was, his face turning red.

Gavin's face started to scrunch up in anger. Then, it was like the world moved in slow motion. He raised his hand and clenched it into a fist.

"Detective (L/N)!" I heard Connor yell from behind me. The anger was still rushing to my head and I reacted quickly, punching him in the face first before he could get to me.

Gavin fell to the ground, unconscious. Before that, I had never actually knocked someone out cold. Maybe I was angrier than I thought.

Connor looked at me in slight surprise, carrying Hank in his arms. "We should go, detective (l/n). Let's take care of Hank." He whispered chuckling. I nodded and left Gavin on the floor. Gavin's head moved a little, so he seemed to be a little conscious. At least I didn't kill him.

Connor carried out Hank with me behind him. All eyes in the DPD were on us, following us. It was a bit embarrassing, but of course, Connor didn't mind. I kind of did.

We walked to an old looking car, one that my mother drove when she was young. It wasn't an electric car and it was tiny. However, it was a nice change of pace.

Connor set down the hungover Lieutenant in the back seats and I sat in the passenger. Connor started up the car, as its engine roared a loud roar and shook the entire car.

"Sorry for the inconvenience, but Hank likes his things... old fashioned." He said apologetically, smiling at me.

I smiled back, waving my hands around. "No no, it's no problem. I sort of prefer these kinds of cars anyways!"

And with that, we were off to the Lieutenant's home. Apparently, Connor also lived with him. I assumed he stayed with all the other police androids at the station, but I guess not.

We arrived at Hank's home about 10 minutes after we left the station. First impressions; it looked old and rickety on the outside. The walls were worn and dull, but it can't be all that bad inside, right?

As the car stopped moving, Connor opened his door and I opened mine. Hank was still out cold, so Connor carried him to the front door and to the inside. I followed.

It was a bit awkward to be visiting my partners' house on the first day with them, but this probably was just an odd day. Hank was laid down on the couch. He shuffled around and groaned, stinking the place of booze.

"Hank has had a drinking problem for a while, but he'll get better." He explained to me. I stood awkwardly in the front of the room, looking around the house not knowing what to do. Connor, on the other hand, took off his jacket revealing a nicely ironed white button up shirt. He hung it on a coat hanger next to the couch, and went off to the kitchen. Again, I just followed.

"Detective (l/n), would you like anything to eat?" He asked me. My lunch break was interrupted by Fowler, and I was barely able to eat. I nodded quietly, fidgeting with my fingers.

Connor opened up the refrigerator. I heard him sigh. "Sorry, Lieutenant (l/n), but all we have left is some old Mac and cheese from last night. I could heat it up if you want to?" He questioned, taking out the bowl of Mac and cheese.

I walked over to the kitchen, making eye contact with Connor.

"Oh, Mac and cheese is fine! I'd be happy to have some. Thank you so much for your hospitality, Connor." I gushed. I bowed my head down slightly and sat at the table.

"It's no problem, Lieutenant (l/n)!" He said happily, placing the Mac and cheese in the microwaving and timing it.

It was a bit weird for him to always call me 'Lieutenant (l/n).'

"Please, just call me (y/n)!"
