Summer formal is getting closer and closer, it's been a week since cam asked me.

I have five days left to prepare my self before the ball on Friday night.

I'm not nervous,

I mean,

Why would I be?

I'm going with my best friend.

On the other hand,

Matt still hasn't talked to me.

And I'm not going to be the one to make the first move.

Why should I?

None of this is his fault, but if he was man enough he would have approached me by now.

Just shows how much of a kid he is.

A while ago I decided to forgive Matt for being such a jerk towards me..

And yeah, I did forgive him.

But I'm not dumb enough to trust him again.

I guess that's how it is.

I just have to suck it up and live with it.

"Ryan!" I yell.

I've been waiting on him for more than 15 minutes now. (Low key, it's usually the opposite way around.)

"Coming!" He yells, running down the stairs.

"Don't get lost!" Mom yells from the kitchen.

Ryan and I both roll our eyes escorting ourselves out the door while we answer "we won't!" in sync.

Ryan has agreed to come to the mall with me.

Shocker, I know.

But there's obviously a catch, I promised I'd buy him something.

He's coming with me because Cam isn't answering his calls and Soph is away for the weekend.

I'm basically using him and he's agreeing to it.

But hey, who's complaining?

It takes a while to get to the mall, we take a few wrong turns and end up getting lost a few times, but we get there.

We're walking past the shops until Ryan sees something that catches his eye.

"Tay, I'm just gonna look around in there" he tells me, pointing at the art and hobby shop.

"Alright, I'll be out here." I say,

I browse around the windows for a few minutes until I get bored.

Ryan is taking ages in there.

I turn around and am just about to storm into the shop when I bump into something,- someone.

"Watch where you're going!" I snap, before I see who it is.

I look up and see Matthew standing in front of me.

His friends laugh at me, making a joke out of this.

He smiles that sideways smile that kills me on the inside.

"Or what?" He asks, still smiling.

I bite my lip.

"You tell me." I challenge him.

He takes a step closer to me and I now have to tilt my head back to look him in the eye.

My heart is racing, and it's not because I'm scared.
