" CHARLIE I'M NOT GOING TO CALL YOUR NAME AGAIN, COME DOWN AND GET YOUR BREAKFAST!" my mom yelled from the bottom of the stairs.

I hadn't even realized it was morning. I look at my phone. "shoot!" I jump out of bed and rush to the bathroom. I quickly do my morning rituals. I grab a yellow sweater and some overalls. " I guess this will have to do," I whisper to myself as I rush to put them on. I grab my backpack and put on some converse. I put my hair in a bun, leaving my bangs out.

I run downstairs. " CHARLIE PEN-oh hello sweetie." Hey mom! Sorry didn't hear my alarm." I say while putting on my Iloveyourpleasedontkillmeface. "Its fine honey, you have an extra fifteen minutes anyway, you know I always start getting you up an hour before." What. mom-" Charlie, I don't think you realized how much effort goes into waking you up-never mind eat your breakfast."

I grumble under my breath. I sit down at the breakfast bar and eat my eggs and toast with Nutella, my favorite. I scroll through Instagram and look at some memes that make me laugh. My mom looks at me weirdly but doesn't say anything.

I feel a kiss to my head and I instantly know it's my brother, Felix. He's a senior at my school whilst I'm a freshman. Today is the first day of school and I'm not excited.

I am excited to be an aid to the librarian and get to be around books for two hours.

"Hey, Charlie."Hello brother."Aw, don't be so grumpy, it's your first year." Yeah, no, I'll pass.'C'mon it's not that bad," says the senior.

"Okay, my children let us go."My mother says while walking out the door.

I can admit that Felix is quite a charmer and many girls ask me for his number but I just walk away annoyed.

We head in moms Land Rover and I head to the front seat. I see Butter, our dog, waiting in the car already. Mom must of let him in. I'm excited that my last moments of before hell is with my dog.

We arrive," See ya later guys, love you." Felix says and gets out the car and is met by a crowd of people most likely asking about our summer vacations. I chose to go to France while Felix chose to go skiing, and mom and dad choose Hawaii, their favorite place.

I turn to my mom."Mom do I have to? Plea-"Sweetie you have to go to school, plus we already paid so shoo."Fine.." I get out of the car before I get one last pity look at my mom and she mouths, I love you. I mouth it back and shut the door. I immediately grab my phone and text, Marie.

I jog to the entrance and I don't see Marie. Humph. Is there another entrance?

I look up and bump into someone, "Sorry I wasn't loo-" I look up and see a beautiful specimen in front of me. He has big glasses and a sharp jawline. He looks a bit nerdy but cute." No, it's my fault." He has to slightly look down at me due to my 5 5' height while he looks about 6 1'. "I'm Milo." he smiles." Hi! I'm Charlie. I gotta go but it was nice meeting you, Milo." I wave as I run away.

I call Marie but I hear the bell ring indicating it's almost 8 am. I go to my locker to grab my first and second period things and I stop dead on my tracks. I see Marie talking to this boy who I've never seen before. I would have seen him at orientation but it looks like he signed up very recently by them searching for his locker.

So that's why she didn't pick up my call, and why she wasn't by the entrance. She seems to be laughing, usually, she doesn't have this look on her face.. is this a crush?

Wow. This year should be fun.

I go to all my morning classes. I head to lunch, I bring my own lunches but I only come to the cafeteria for the brownies.
