I woke up on the middle of the kitchen floor, starring at a white ceiling. Everything was quiet at first and then all the noise hit me at once.

Issac was yelling at Brandon. “How could you take her and give her to that beast? Do you have a death wish?  I warned you, Lovette. She is so incredibly special and you refused to see that or you have some sort of plan for self gain!” He screamed this all while holding Brandon in the air.

My ‘mom’ was kneeling next to me yelling my name. “Aila, Sweetie are you ok?” She shook me. I turned my head towards her.

“What happened to me?” I started to sit up but my head started throbbing! I hurried and lay back down.

“The red moon is to be coming soon. She needs to decide.” Zoraida said in an irritated voice. “I do not understand how or why you would wait this long. No wonder her body is rejecting both bloods! I have already caught her shaking. That would be the Wolf trying to take control, but as the Hunter side try to rein it in she completely passed out. Why? And Issac,” She said turning away from me toward Issac and Brandon. “Put down Mr. Lovette. Now.” When she said the word ‘Now’, I could almost feel the anger and power radiating off of her voice.

Issac dropped Brandon and Brandon crumbled to the ground gasping for breath while holding his throat.

“Why did I have to put him down? He is scum and would be much happier dead. At least, I would be much happier.” Issac growled the words out.

“You cannot kill him because the boy is destined to rule by her side with the Hunters! And you my boy need to watch how you threat because soon he could sentence your death. Do you want an award over your head for your assassination?” Zoraida said. Her gaze not once leaving Issac’s.

“So, she’s going to pick them..” Issac looked down at me on the floor with betrayed eyes.

“If she were to chose them then yes, he is next in line to be at her side.” She looked at me. “Get up. I must explain things to you and I refuse to do it while you lay on the floor. Show some of the courage and strength that I know run through your blood.”

I was completely stunned for a moment. Not only was I trying my best to understand what was going on and what they were talking about but now I was being yelled at to get of the damn floor that I fainted on.

Even though I was mad at her for demanding me to get up off the floor, I did so anyways. I was more interested in figuring out what was going on instead of pissing her off.

When I was standing and was sure I wasn’t going to fall back onto the ground I said to her: “When are you going to explain this to me?”

Her eyes widened and watered up for a moment and then I blinked and the tears were gone and she was blankly looking at me.

“For a moment, I swear you looked just like Annette. Oh my dear friend…” She turned and walked down the hallway and opened one of the doors. I followed her.

She walked into a living room with me right behind her.

As my eyes slowly adjusted to the dim lights in the room I realized there was a small fire burning on one side of the wall, surrounded by three large, red sofas forming a U letter with a rather low table in front of them, with nothing but a large vase with three beautiful red roses.

On a table placed against the wall were a bunch of random animal trinkets. I couldn't see really well from the distance or the lighting between but I could make out a tiger, a wolf, a horse and what I thought was a gazelle.

I went to go sit on a huge, leather chair. It wasn't very comfortable and it made my skin itch, but it looked very grand. I looked over my shoulder and spotted several photo frames all over the wall, pictures of random things that don’t have any tie or personal connection with a person or this room.
