The road to the castle was small and narrow, with trees completely surrounding it. The road was also very curvy. If you just looked straight ahead, and not at the road, it would look like you are driving right into the wood.

I was almost there when my cell was ringing.

" Hello?"

" Aila, wait for me." he said

" Issac! I'm almost there." I said. I was seriously getting frustrated with him.

" Just wait in front of it. I'm 10 minutes away. Please, Aila. " he almost sounded desperate. I couldn't say no.

" All right. I'm pulling over." I said and I hung up on him. It was hard to get the car far enough over where there will be room to drive pass me.

I know it seemed mean but what was wrong with coming a half hour ago? Nothing. Ugh.

I just don't understand why he freaked out like that. I mean, is he really that worried that the castle is going to completely collapse on my head? He is just so paranoid about that place. Maybe he's worried about ghosts. Maybe that's why he freaked out so bad. But that really doesn't make sense. He's gone to loads of haunted houses with me over the years. Hmmm..

I saw his car in my rearview mirror, so, I put my car in drive and started driving towards the castle.

Once I was there, I got out and leaned against my car. Sunglasses on.

" I'm really sorry, Aila. I just couldn't let you go alone." Issac said, looking sincere, as he got out of his car.

I sighed and put my glasses on top of my head " Fine. Just next time, please say something earlier. Please."

" Okay. I promise."

We started to head inside. The doors to the castle are about 12 feet tall. They are traced with elaborate designes with wolves fighting hunters. It's very pretty. We pulled on the doors large handles and they opened right up.

" Aila, why are you so determined to come break in your grandparents castle?" he said in his smart a*s way.

" Because if there is someone else in here I want to be the on to bust them. And I've been having so many dreams about this place. I need to see it." I said as we walked through the doors and we were in in the large entrance room.

The room was absolutely remarkable. Every part of this building tells a story. I could hear my mother telling me that when I was a little girl, the first time I came into the old, beautiful, castle I was 8 years old. I still don't understand what my mother was talking about. But now, when you look at the beautiful art work and the old details of every art piece in the room, I was slowly understanding.

The castle always makes me feel all tingly. It's like a deep feeling in my bones and gut that you know what you're doing is right. Like I was supposed to be here, today, right now.

' God. This is what happens when you paint the walls with lead paint.' I thought to myself. It actually made me laugh and Issac gave me a weird look but he had a half smile on him, too.

" Did I say that aloud?" I was still kind of giggling.

" No. I didn't hear anything. I just feel good." he was laughing aloud with me.

" Whoa, buddy." I said, laughing so hard I had to put my hand up as I bent at the waist. " Don't get too happy," I gasped out.

" Aila!!" he sat on the dusty ground laughing so hard. " I never meant that." he was looking up laughing.

My brain was reeling on everything that was funny at the moment. Like the way the dust flew up when Issac sat down and the way the whole castle echoed with our laughter. Wait. That's not really even funny...

There's something wrong. I stood straight up and felt myself searching. My laughter died and my eyes stopped on the spot between a fallen post and a door. The post was fallen over the door cutting the doorway in half.

" Annette..."

The voice.. It felt like smoke was wrapping you up in a tight coil.

" Come to me...my lost, long, love."

I didn't have to look around because I knew it came from behind that door. I knew it. It was like this strong pull in that direction. I started to walk that way when I heard a loud slam behind me. I whipped my head towards the noise.

Issac was standing there with a dark look on his face. The noise was a book. Really thick. He slammed it on to a table holding a center piece.

" You scared me! What is that?" I demanded. I looked back to the door way. But the feeling I had a moment ago was gone.

" Look, Aila. There's something you need to know..and I'm so sick of everyone telling me that you need more time." Issac said. He sounded so distressed. I don't hear that often from calm-always-relax Issac.

" I don't understand..." I was started to get kind of freaked out.

Issac sighed in frustration and ran his hand through his hair. " Aila, life is about trusting our feelings and taking chances. What i'm about to tell you...I'm taking a chance on our friendship, your family liking me and so much more that I can't talk to you about right now."

As selfish as this seems, I'm terrified that he was going to tell me that he has a secret passion and love for me. During his entire speech I'm trying to find ways to make him stop before he really starts.

" Issac, what's this about?" I asked it slowly, as if i'm trying to patiently teach a young child why stepping in the neighbors garden is a bad thing to do.

" God, this is harder than I thought. I really don't even know where to start," he was looking around, like he expected the answer to jump out at him. " Your family...Aila, do you have any idea what your name comes from?"

" My grandfathers heritage?'' I was getting so confused.

" No, well, yes. Kinda. Your name does come from them but it means 'From the Strong Place'. " He said that like I was instantly understand.

" Okay? So, what Issac? None of what you're saying to me makes any sense!" I was getting highly upset at this point.

" Your name.. It means more than that. You were born to be something so much more than a high school, normal, teenage girl. You are so special. Our world has been waiting for you for so long. And now that you're here they don't want to tell you anything." He was getting really worked up. " Aila, you are so gifted in every way. You don't even realize the potential you have to change everything in this world. You have that power! It's incredible!" He saw my face and realized I was still completely lost.

" Issac, I really have no clue what you're talking about. Please slow down."

He stepped foward and put both of his hands on either side of my face. " Aila... You, your family...me? Well, to be blunt: You're not human."
