Chapter 3

“Chat..?”

“Hello purrin-” Chat was cut short as he notices her red, puffy eyes. “Hey...What’s wrong?”

“Wh-what do you mean..?” She took a step back and looked away as Chat crawled inside and she closed the window before looking at him again. She gave him a small fake smile as he looked back at her with concern “I-I’m fine..Really.”

“Mari please...I know somethings up..”

Marinette frowned and looked down as a few more tears slipped down her cheeks. “I’m useless...I made a fool of myself in front of Adrien..Again!...I’ll never be as close to him as Chloe is..or Nino. I’m just...Invisible….And now i’m just crying and telling a guy in a mask how much I hate my life..”

Chat looked at her frowning “Marinette..Look at me..You’re not invisible..and you’re definitely not useless.” He put on that goofy heartfelt smile as he slowly wrapped his arms around her embracing her tightly. “I’m here for you.”

Her eyes widened a little as she never thought she’d feel so comforted by the dumb ally cat..and yet here she is feeling safe in his arms. She slowly frowned and she hugged him back burying her face in his chest. “Do you know how it feels…? Years trying to say something so simple but it just turned out to be a mistake..”

“I do..” Chat let out a faint sigh “Hm...Ladybug does it to me..She thinks i’m just a flirt. But to be honest...I only ever flirt with her..At least when it means something that is. Sure I may mess around with others but with her I mean it..I care for her and the girl under the mask. No matter what , it’s the same person...But I’ve learned to respect her wishes as long as shes happy.” He looks at her breaking the hug as his hands rest on hips. “Don’t think you’re nothing..Because you’re not..I’m here. I care.” He says softly with his signature goofy grin.

Marinette’s hands rested on Chat’s chest as she looked at him ‘He really thinks that about me..? He really cared all this time?’ She thought as she stared into his glowing, emerald green eyes. “C-could you stay?” She asks softly.

A soft smile spread across the kittens face as he faintly nods in approval.

She once again rested her head on his chest with a faint frown. “Thank you..”

“For what, princess?”

She slowly looked back at him again and a smile slowly appeared on her face. “For..well...for this..For cheering me up..just...for being there.”

“Of course. Is that not what a knight is skin-tight black leather does for a purrincess?” He gives her his signature grin as Marinette let out a light giggle

“It is kitty.” She said softly as she looked deeply in his eyes.

Chat looked back in hers studying every detail that was set in her bright blue orbs. He tilts his head just a tad. As if on instinct, he started to lean in just a little. Marinette was lost in thought as she slowly followed his lead. Before they knew it, the distance between them was broken and their lips had met as they moved in sync.

Marinette's head raced as thoughts rambled around in her mind. ‘I love Adrien..What am I doing???’ She thought, her hands slowly snaking up and around his neck.

Chat Noir smiled and deepened the kiss a little. ‘I may love Ladybug..But she doesn’t love me….I think I just found my new lady.’ He thinks wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her closer.

After a minute or so Marinette slowly pulled away breaking the kiss as they both took a silent gasp of air looking into one another's eyes. Chat’s nose twitched a little as a faint grin slowly curled into his cheek.

“I-I..uh..i’m sorry.” Marinette said cheeky looking away from him.

“Don’t be..I...I liked it.”

Marinette softly smiles and looks back at him “D-do you want anything to eat? I c-can uh..go...go get some croissant from the bakery or s-something.”

Chat gave her a heartfelt smile “Ok.” He says softly before she slowly slipped out of his arms and headed downstairs. Chat watched her leave and looked around her room a bit then sat on her bed as he waited for her.

A few minutes passed and Marinette entered the room with a tray of croissants. Chat’s nose twitched and his ears perked at the smell as he eyed the warm, flakey bread she heald in front of her. Marinette walked over and sat the tray in his lap then sat beside him. She smiled as he took a bite out of one of the croissant.

~Time skip about a week or two. Chat had visited Marinette a few times as his feelings grew stronger for her along with hers for him. He has now arrived once again as they sat on her bed cuddling and watching a movie~

Marinette giggled as she stared at her computer and Chat smiled at her musical laughter from the comedy they had put in. Chat sat next to Marinette of her bed with his arm wrapped around her. A few minutes had passed and the movie had ended. Marinette closed the computer before realizing Chat had been looking at her rather than the movie.

She looks at him and tilts her head a little. “You alright Chat?”

Chat Noir was knocked out of his daze and he blinked a couple times before nodding and looking away.

“What’s wrong?”

“Nothing..I’m alright.” He looks at her giving her a soft smile.

“Are you sure?” She asks with worry and curiosity in her voice.

Chat took in a sharp inhale. “Princess...There’s something I want to ask you…"

"Of course. What is it?"

"Will...will you be my girlfriend?"
