The next morning, Rocky woke up on the floor of Tony's room, with Cupcake sleeping at his side. A smile was still on his face from the night before as he remembered slow dancing with Avery. Than having one of the best nights of his life with Tony, Sky, and the girl he loves as they all jammed out to some pretty decent country music.
Rocky quietly got off the floor and out of the room. He followed the sent of freshly brewed coffee into the kitchen where her found Avery and her grandmother sitting at the table, a mug in both of their hands and conchas, Mexican sweet bread, sitting in between them.
Neither of the women noticed as he leaned against the door frame just watching them talk. A huge smile on Avery's face as talked to her grandmother in Spanish, her words were spewing out of her mouth a mile a minute.
After a few minutes, Rocky decided to make himself noticed. He came up behind Avery, kissing her forehead, causing her to smile even brighter. “Morning.” Rocky went over to Grandma Rosie and gave her a hug, making her smile.
“Honey, you're up.” Avery said, standing up from her chair. “I was just about to make some breakfast, do you want some?” Rocky nodded his head, pouring himself a cup of coffee.
“Mija, let me do that.” Grandma Rosie declared, getting up from her seat. She gathered some eggs, chorizo, and a couple of tortillas.
Soon, Grandma Rosie was setting a plate of food in front of Rocky. He didn't hesitate to dig in, devouring every scrape of food.
“Oh yeah! Abuela made breakfast.” Sky exclaimed as she walked into the room, her long black hair was a mess. She grabbed herself a plate of food before setting herself beside Rocky. “When are you guys leaving?”
“Annoyed with us already?” Rocky replied playfully. “Oh man, I was planning on staying her forever.” Sky made a playfully face towards him, sticking out her tounge.
“No, but seriously, when are you guys leaving?” Tony questioned as he walked into the room. “Cause this guy snores like a lumber jack.”
Avery couldn't help but throw her head back laughing. “I told you babe, you DO snore!”
“I do not snore!” He defended himself quickly.
“Yes, you do.” Everybody said at the same time, all chuckling.
“Ouch.” He pretended to be hurt. “Babe, maybe we do need to leave.” He joked.
Avery bit her lip. “We do need to leave soon Rocky.” He nodded his head in understatement, but still shoveling his second plate of food into his mouth, causing her to laugh as food fell out.
~~~
“You sure you got everything?” Grandma Rosie questioned as Avery and Rocky packed their things into his jeep.
“Yes Grandma Rosie.” Rocky replied, pulling her in for a hug. “Thank you for having me.”
“Oh, Rocky, you are welcome here anytime.” She gushed as they pulled away from the hug.
As Avery came up to her grandmother, Rocky took Cupcake and walked to the jeep. “It was good to see you Abuela. I missed you.” She said as the two hugged.
“I missed you to mija.” Grandma Rosie said dropping the hug, but still holding her hands. “Hold on to him.” She said, referring to Rocky. “He's a good one.”
Avery glanced back towards her boyfriend, a smile on her face. “I know.”
~~~
“Where have you two been?” Mark roared when Rocky and Avery walked into the house 12 hours later.
“ Las Cruces, New Mexico.” Rocky said sheepishly, setting down his luggage.
“New Mexico!?” Stormie exclaimed. “Why were you in New Mexico?”
“Did you go see your grandma?” Liam question as he stood next to Rocky's parents, Rydel at his side. Avery wordlessly nodded her head.
“Boys, we know your behind the wall!” Mark called out. Riker, Ratliff, Ross, and Ryland came out from the next room. None of them could keep a smirk off of the face.
“I think we should just figure this out tomorrow morning. It's late.” Stormie sighed. She came up to the couple. “I am just glad you guys are back. Safe and sound.” She put her hand on her son's cheek. “But if you made me a grandma, we'll have problems.”
Both Avery and Rocky quickly exclaimed that it was impossible for Avery to be pregnant. Stormie chuckled, grabbing Mark's hand, and making their way up to their bed room.
“Sunny, it's time to go home.” Liam declared. Avery nodded, grabbing her things.
“Bye guys.” She said, going around hugging all of the guys and Rydel, but kissing Rocky's cheek when she got to him.
“Bye Sunny.” They called after her.
When Liam and Avery got to his car, she turned to him. “How much trouble am I in?”
“Do you know you how scared I was?!” He exclaimed. And for the first time Avery noticed his bloodshot eyes.
“I'm sorry Liam. But we just need to get away for a little while.” She explained, her voice was nearly cracking. “He was going through a rough time. But please don't be mad at him Liam, it was my idea.” She took the credit for the whole plan, not wanting her boyfriend to get into trouble.
Liam sighed. “I'm not mad at him. And I'm not mad at you either.” When Avery smiled slightly, he quickly spoke again, a smirk on his face. “Oh, but you're still grounded.” And Avery couldn't help but laugh.
