After dinner, Victor pulled me back into the den. He sat down behind the large desk while I sat in the plush chair.

We didn't say anything, just looked at one another, that is until he let out an awkward cough.

“Look, Victor, thank you for having me for dinner, but I think it's time for me to go.” I said collecting my purse from the wooden floor, standing up in the process.

“Wait!” He jumped from his seat, desperation in his hazel eyes. “I'm sorry about the way I acted tonight. I just didn't know how to react to all of this; having a beautiful daughter who has her own career, a boyfriend--”

Before he continued, I cut him off. “Ex boyfriend. We broke up.”

Victor ran his fingers through his thick brown wavy hair. “Man, I didn't think I would have to deal with boyfriend drama for at least five more years with Zoey.”

This made me chuckle. “Well, you don't have to worry, I dout that Rocky will be a problem.”

He walked out from behind the desk and wrapped his arms around me. “Thank you for coming, I know the family loved you.”

I felt kind of awkward, but slowly I wrapped my arms around him.

“Victor, Avery?” Stella questioned, popping her head into the den. “The twins are going to bed and they want to say goodnight to both of you.”

We dropped the hug and turned towards the door, where the two eight years came running in.

Zac wrapped his arms around my leg, squeezing them. “Are you going to come back?”

“Yeah, we like you!” Zoey exclaimed with her big brown eyes.

I looked over to Victor and Stella. They both had big smiled on their faces. I got down to Zoey and Zac's eye level. “How about this? Next week we can go see a movie, maybe get some ice cream.” I smirked with an idea. “And maybe we can get Zander to come with us.”

“Yeah!” The eight year olds screamed. Stella laughed, herding her twins up to the room, leaving me with Victor once again.

“Sunny, you wanna come bowling with us?” Zander questioned as he and Kali walked into the den.

I smiled. “Yeah, I'd like that.”

“Okay, we're leaving soon.” Kali explained, with a smirk. The couple walked out of the room. And I turned to Victor.

“Well, I better get ready to leave.” I rocked in my uggs waiting for him to say something.

“Have fun.” He said while writing something on a piece of paper. He handed the slip to me. “This is my number call me if you ever need anything.”

I nodded and started to walk away until he called out again. “And feel free to come over when ever you want to.”

I turned back to him, a small smile on my face. “I was serious about taking the twins out.” And with that I walked to the living room to find Zander and Kali cuddling on the couch.

“Yay! We can leave now!” Kali exclaimed, jumping off the couch. The maid came walking in with three jackets, handing them to the owners.

We made out way to Zander's car, I was forced to sit in the back.
