Chapter 12: To The Moon

No one POV

In the past 24 hours Lauren has been through hell. With the lost of her brother, and Kiana who she considered her sister. She was raised/trained to be a soldier. A unbreakable machine. Something that mankind would fear. Her belief was that it was for the best. Her parents were not the living kind. They never showed love, simply because love is the biggest weaknesses. Loving someone is dangerous, she was taught that at the early age of three.

She loved James. He was her brother. She would have done anything to keep him alive even if that meant giving up her own.

Sitting beside her brothers lifeless body has brought her back to the realization. Love is weakness. It's what destroys a person and Lauren will not be destroyed.

She digs a hole right out side of the hideout. Crying as she does so. The thought of having to do this alone is getting to her. It takes longer than it should have to dig both holes. Her emotions were all over the place.

She takes Kiana's body first and gently puts her into the hole. She makes sure the girl has her ring on. James is next, his body being a little heavier than Kiana's, Lauren struggles to put him in. She has to roll him into the grave. She takes his hair and tucks it behind his ear knowing how much it made him mad when it wasn't behind his ear.

"I'm so sorry." Lauren whispers to James. She sits there for a moment.

"I promise to take care of your daughter. I won't let anything happen to her. Even if it cost me my life." She wiped her eyes and stands up.

"Kiana... you didn't deserve to live like this. I promise Zariah is in good hands." Lauren dust off her pants and begins to cover them up.

Once she is done her body is tired. She's tired. She takes a minute to remember them, to thank them and apologize once more. She walks away to the cabin.

Meanwhile:

"Holy shit!" Zendaya says.

"Where are the rest?" Madison ask. "Where did you get a baby?"

"Guys calm down. Let me explain." Zayn says.

Harry is holding the baby who has been sleeping. He makes sure she is wrapped up and healthy. From what he can see she is doing just fine.

"When we arrived Kiana was in labor. We had to calm her down and help her have the baby. Lauren was trying to get James attention but it wasn't working." He takes a minute. "James was dying. I don't know how, but he was. Kiana was stressing which we tried to stop her from doing, but unfortunately we couldn't." He finishes.

"Are- what? Madison stumbles. Her eyes are glistening.

"I'm sorry." Harry says while rocking the baby.

"Oh my goodness." Ally mumbles.

Madison walks up stairs and slams her door. The others are still in shock.

"Is Camila okay?" Zayn ask.

"We don't know." Normani says.

"I'll go check." Zayn says.

The group stands around Harry to try and look at the baby. He leans her up a little so the others can see.

"She's beautiful." Ally comments. The others agree.

"Wait till she opens her eyes." Harry smiles. The baby girl has big grey eyes. He was amazed at the color when he first saw them.

"Are they green like Kiana's?" Zendaya ask. Harry shakes his head.

"They're a cold grey." He replies.

"Camila seems fine." Zayn says walking back into the living room.
