Living in fear is what Lauren was taught not to do. She was trained to fear nothing, love nothing and care for no one. Not even herself. Her parents were the ones to drill that into her brain. James was the one to try and redirect her. He had spent his whole life making sure Lauren goes into the right direction.
With James being gone it's hard for her to remember that she isn't supposed to be that way. She has been struggling with everything, but the one thing she knows she can't let Zariah have the life she had.
"Okay we need to go." Madison says to Lauren. "We've stayed here to long."
Lauren nods her head. She gathers the things she had brought with her. Zariah was currently with Ally being fed again. She ended up staying with Ally throughout the night.
"Everyone ready?" Madison ask the group.
"Yeah. We're waiting on Mila. She's in the bathroom." Zayn says.
"Is she okay?" Lauren ask. Her nerves getting the best of her.
"I don't know." Zayn says again.
"Camz are you okay?" Lauren ask. When she hears nothing she tries again. "Camz!"
Everyone is waiting for Camila to say something. She says nothing, and the group gets nervous.
"If you don't say anything I'm going to break the door." Lauren says while taking a step back.
"3." Lauren says. "2 I'm warning you Camila." Lauren gets into position. "1." Lauren gets ready to kick the door when it swings open.
Camila came out of the bathroom looking pale. Lauren puts her foot down and looks at the younger girl.
"Sorry." Camila says.
"Are you okay?" Lauren ask. Camila nods her head.
"Yeah, just a little weak." Camila says. She walked over to her bag. "I'm ready."
Lauren shakes her head. "No I'm carrying your bag." Lauren takes Camila's bag.
"I'm not a baby." Camila protest. Lauren rolls her eyes.
"Didn't say you were." With that Lauren walks out the door.
"This should be fun." Dinah whispers to Normani.
The group walked for a couple of more miles. Taking little breaks when needed. It was getting hotter the more they walked. The boys had taken off their shirts. Normani and Dinah has tied their shirts around their waist. Zendaya already had a tank top on. Ally had taking off her shirt but tied it around her neck. Camila being the weakest of the group had taking off the most clothes. She took off her shirt and pants, but she put on some short tights.
"Lauren are you sure you don't want to take some of that off?" Camila asked. Seeing as the older girl had on a camouflage jacket on with black ripped pants and black boots to match it.
"I'm okay." Lauren replies. She was use to sweating this much.
"Okay." Camila says quietly.
"Break time." Lauren announces.
"We need more water." Harry says.
"We can get fresh water from a river just over that hill." Lauren says.
"Again. How do you know this?" Ally ask. Lauren looks at The shorter girl.
"Somethings not right." Madison says.
"What's wrong?" Lauren ask in alarm.
"There have been no attacks since James. Why?" Madison looks as if she's trying to come up with a answer. "We've been out in the open for days now."
"Let's just go get more water." Lauren says.
"No Lauren. You know somethings not right." Madison says. She steps up to Lauren.
Lauren doesn't move. Madison stares Lauren in the eyes.
"I'm only saying this cause you're my friend. Calm your ass down." Lauren says. She has put her stuff down along with Camila's.
"Let's calm down everybody." Camila says.
"No!" Madison says loudly.
"Madison I think the heat is getting to you." Camila says while putting a hand on Madison's shoulder.
Madison reacts before she could think. She takes Camila's hand and twist it. She throws a punch a Camila making the smaller girl fall. Before she could apologize Lauren had already take action.
"Lauren." Madison says weakly. Lauren had Madison on the ground and was now chocking her. "I c-can't br-breathe." Madison struggles to say. Her face turning purple and her eyes rolling into the back her her head.
"Lauren that's enough." Camila says. Lauren still hadn't let go of Madison.
"LAUREN!" Camila yells. Lauren's mind goes blank and the only thing she can remember is the day her parents yelled at her for the first time.
"LAUREN!" Clara yelled. Lauren had been trying to perfect the twisting flip off of the house. She had fallen so many times, she was numb to the pain.
"Sorry mommy." Lauren apologies.
"Sorry? You're never supposed to say that word." Mike had slapped Lauren.
"For that you will run for two hours." Clara declared.
Lauren begins to cry. Knowing the pain she is about to endure.
"Are those tears?" Mike asked. Lauren quickly wiped her face.
"No papa." She says. Mike shakes his head.
"I think they were and for that you get four licks." Mike left to go get the whip.
"Get in position." Clara said. Lauren turned her back and blacked herself.
"Lauren." Camila said. Lauren blinked before she came to. Her hand still on Madison's neck. She removed her hand and backed away.
"Is she okay?" Dinah asked.
"She's fine." Lauren says. "We need to find shelter."
Harry carries a unconscious Madison over his shoulder. The group stayed quite Maybe from the shock of it all.
Lauren led the group to another house. No one questioned how she knew about this house or why there were so many houses in the woods.
"Take her upstairs. Second door on the left." Lauren says.
"Is there a place for us to rest?" Zayn asked.
"Yea wherever you want." Lauren says.
"Come on Mila you need to rest." Zayn says while leading the girl upstairs.
"You guys can rest too. Madison is going to be out for awhile." Lauren informs the group.
"I take it this has happened before." Dinah says. She sits beside the black haired girl.
"Kinda." Lauren says.
"You can open up to us you know." Dinah tells the black haired girl.
"I wasn't trained that way." Dinah frowns.
"Trained? Why do you say that instead of raised." Dinah is trying to find out more about her.
"You should sleep." Lauren stands up and head to one of the rooms. Dinah takes in the information and plans on consulting with Normani and Z.
