"Heh.. That's funny." He chuckled under his breath, which made my heart stop. "We made you believe in what you do, Evangelina."
"I doubt it." I quickly responded, and he grabbed the collar of my shirt, bringing me closer to him. But, with that, he was lifting me up so I could face him.
"Oh yes, we did."
"Then why did you seem so surprised when I stated I was an Atheist?" I asked, and he sighed.
"Because, we taught you to be a Christian."
"See, you didn't make me believe in what I believe in." I laughed softly but it quickly faded when I noticed how serious he was. I knew this was a harsh topic for the two of us, noting I didn't talk to my parents very much during my early teens, so we never really did get to discuss these things. Like, sexuality, gender, etc. I was handed one card, a straight cis gendered female, but I broke that card a little. I'm a lesbian cis gendered female.
"You aren't very funny, Evangelina." He told me, and I chuckled under my breath.
"The problem here is, yes I am." I responded, and he once again growled at me. When does this guy not growl anyways?
"Why can't you just be normal? Why can't you see that you're corrupting the royal family? Why can't you just stop?"
"Because I'm not doing any of that. I'm not normal, so you'll have to let that one go. I'm not corrupting the royal family, as I know many other people who are just like me. Lastly, I'm not going to stop until everyone in this kingdom can be happy." I explained, and he dropped me, and I winced as I hit the floor.
"Evangelina, you aren't going to be able to do anything to this kingdom." He told me, and I knew that I was going to do the exact opposite of what he said. I was going to do many things to the kingdom, once I turn nineteen. Here's the funny part. Since I'm an only child, they aren't allowed to keep me from the throne when I'm nineteen. They can't make another either, as the only way for them to say that a younger sibling will be the one to take the throne once they are nineteen, is if the sibling is over the age of ten. Though, I don't have to worry about that.
