Shoulder to shoulder is how we stand,
Caring for our children,
Holding there hands,
Feeding them what little we find,
Hoping it is enough to keep them from hunger.

We hope each day is a little better,
That are children,
Are able to grow,
To learn,
To be doctors and astrophysicists.
For every mother hopers her child succeeds.
That they don't know hunger,
Know fear,
Have to do paperwork and homework,
Under the one streetlight in the village.
That they can dream.
Hoping that tomorrow is for them.
