Anyone who knows what love is will understand

Plot -

The Doc and Yaz have just got married after dating for around 3 years. It's the wedding party in the evening and they're about to have their first dance.

Story -

"Ladies and Gentleman can I please ask you to take your seat because it's time for the first dance"

Yaz and the Doctor took each other's hands in their own as they gazed into one another's eyes. The passion and utter love they had for each other was like a fire burning with desire. The Doctor has experienced a lot in her lifetime... Fighting aliens, going to new planets and eating more custard creams than any normal human could handle but this was nothing like anything she'd experienced before. She loved it. Everything about it. She especially loved her wife.

The beginning of the song began to play as the beginning of the song began to play. The song was called "anyone who knows what love is will understand". The Doctor always spoke about how love is the strongest form of hope and that was just what this song was about. One of the Doctor's granny's introduced it to her and it became almost a lullaby to her.

FLASHBACK

Yaz's POV

I can hear faint muffles coming from the console room.. Surely that's just the TARDIS making its usual noises right?  Yeah, I shouldn't worry.

I try to continue sleeping but I can't help but continue to hear the noise. I've been travelling alongside the Doctor with Ryan and Graham for around a year now and I've never heard this noise. I think I should go and check... just Incase.

I slip on a pair of slippers and a navy blue dressing gown scattered with stars. The Doctor bought it for me when she visited London in 2047. God I love her.. I wish I could tell her thou- Wait.. What if it's her crying?!! Not my Doctor.

My feet pick up their pace as I jog down the corridor towards the muffled noise. It doesn't take long for me to realise that it's someone crying.. not just someone. My doctor. I feel my heart aching even at the thought of what she could be going through.

"Doctor?" I say as I calmly walk towards her.

"Yaz? Why are you up? Go to bed and get some rest. We had a busy day today" She looks up at me and I bring her in for a hug that I know she needs. I wish she would tell me when she's upset.

"No doctor, I'm staying with you even if it means that I stay up for the next 400 years" we both laugh as I pull back from the tight embrace. I look straight into her eyes and notice a certain emptiness that she doesn't usually carry.

"What's wrong my love?" I asked as I stroked her soft cheek, catching tears that continued to fall from her broken eyes.

"I don't know how to explain. There's so much I want to tell you Yasmin Khan. I just don't have the courage to say it"

"Whenever you want to tell me, however you want to tell me.. I will be here to listen. Or even to watch if that's how you want to tell me" I hate it when she's upset like this.

"I have a song. One of my granny's showed it to me when I asked her what love was. After that, I would listen to it day in and day out until it became a lullaby to me. I just want you to know that no matter what Yaz.. I love you and I am here for you whenever you need me."

Tears were brimming at my eyes at what she'd just said to me. The innocence and the pure kindness was overwhelming.

The song began to play and the lyrics were ones that hit me right in the heart.

BACK TO WEDDING

The pair arrived swiftly to the dance floor. Yaz placed her arms around the doctor's neck and the doctor placed hers around Yaz's waist. They looked around to see Najia crying in the corner whilst shakily trying to video it.

The song progressed as the pair thought just how beautiful one another were. Yaz was wearing a red and gold dress which fit perfectly with her body and features. The Doctor was wearing a red and black suit to match the red on Yaz's dress.

"I love you doctor"

"I love you too Yasmin Khan"

"Wait does that make you doctor khan?"
