The Doctor and Yaz stay for dinner at the Khan's before going on a date. ;)

"Hello Doctor!" Najia said as she opened the door to a very smiley Doctor.
"Hi Yaz's mum!" The Doctor smiled back receiving a happy eye roll from Najia. The alien walked through the door to see Sonya and Hakim sitting at the table chatting. Well.. Sonya looked more interested in her phone than her father.
"Doctor! How nice to see you again. I expect you're going out with our Yaz tonight then?" Hakim piped up cheerfully at the notice of her arrival.
"Hello! Yes I am. Not sure where yet though.. I'm sure we'll find something" she replied with a grin.
The conversation flowed nicely whilst the four of them waited for Yaz to return home from work. The Khan's flat had become the Doctor's second home by now and no one was complaining for it. Najia was just happy that Yaz has finally met someone that she could trust and feel happy with. Not one person in their family disrespected the doctor. In fact they adored her. Sonya saw her as an older sister sometimes more than she saw Yaz as one (Yaz wasn't too happy about this but in a way she was relieved Sonya wouldn't laugh at the fact she was in a relationship for once).
About 20 minutes had gone since the Doctor arrived at the flat when Yaz arrived in her full police gear.
"Hey!! I'm home!!" She cakes as she opened the door. Najia peered through the corridor from where she stood in the kitchen.
"Hi darling, The Doctor's here! Was work alright?" Yaz's face lit up at the mention of her girlfriend. She took off her coat and walked down the short corridor and into the kitchen where her family were gathered. She smiled at the Doctor before giving her a quick hug.
"Hiya. Yeah work was alright. Sorry I'm home late, we had to finish locking a guy up who wasn't budging. He was trying to tell us that he wasn't the one who stole this poor ladies purse when we clearly had enough information to tell us he did it !!" The family all laughed at Yaz's fury and the Doctor just smiled at her innocence.
"Do you mind if I quickly get changed? We can go afterwards if you like?" Yaz asked the Doctor, smiling.
"The pair of you can have dinner here quickly if you like? Najia asked. She loved the Doctor and, although she did see an awful lot of her, she always wanted to spend time with her listening to her stories.
"Yaz? I don't mind, it's up to you this time"
"Ummm. Sure, yeah why not!" The pair smiled and Najia got on with cooking dinner.
The Doctor sat at the table opposite Sonya and quickly they began engaging in conversation. She was using snapchat which had completely baffled the Alien. She wanted to know everything about it: how to use it, what filters made her look the best, how she can message Yaz when she's lonely.
"Oh Doctor you do make me laugh. You really do love Yaz, don't you?" The Doctor blushed and smiled.
"Yes I do. I was worried that when we first told you all we were together you would react badly but you've all been so nice about it. I was so worried for so long that you wouldn't accept Yaz as your sister or that your parents wouldn't let her live here or maybe that we wouldn't even be able to see each other. But you were all so happy when we told you and I'm grateful for it" Sonya smiled.
"Of course Doctor, we all love you so much. I don't think I could ever send you away even if mum and dad didn't like you. You're like the best girlfriend Yaz has ever had. Well.. the only girlfriend she's ever had. She's only ever had boyfriends. But that's not the point. Ugh forget it I'm confusing myself too." They both laughed as Yaz entered the room again.
"What're you two laughing about?"
"Just you're old boyfriends sis" Sonya said with a cheeky wink
"Sonya!! They were secondary school relationships which don't count anyway. And even if they were serious... The Doctor is my GIRLfriend now and that's all that matters to me" she said as she gave Sonya and mean look whilst trying not to laugh. She took a seat next the Doctor and help her hand under the table whilst resting her head on her shoulder.
"I love you Doc" she smiled whilst looking up at her
"Ewww Yaz say that when I'm not here it's gross" Yaz looked offended and Najia turned around and eyes Sonya, causing her to shut up with her hands in the air as though she was saying "alright, alright I'll stop".

Eventually the food was served up and everyone tucked in.
"Najia you are an amazing cook"
"Oh Doctor you're too nice. But you do say that every time I give you food, you know!" They all laughed and the Doctor pulled an awkward face before eventually laughing along.
The meal continued with a lovely conversation about everyone's day - the Doctor's day obviously being the most eventful with all the Aliens she has to conquer and defeat ..

After dinner, the two lovers decided that they were too lazy to go out and instead decided on staying in and listening to music and watching films in Yaz's room.

When they got in they connected Yaz's phone to the speaker in her room and played the music loudly - no one cared about the music being loud because secretly her family were jamming out to it as well in the kitchen.

Soon, their song came on. The song they dance to every time they have a bop together. "She moves in her own way" by the Kooks came on and the pair were ecstatic. They were jumping up and down with passion, belting out every word.
"And oh, oh, oh she came to the show just to hear about my day!!!!" They screamed and laughed at their pre enthusiasm. Towards the end of the song, Yaz leapt into the Doctor's arms and crashed their lips together.
"Oh I love you Yasmin Khan"
"I love you too Doctor"

It was perfect. Song after song came on and the playlist went like this:

- dancing in the moonlight
- Jesus came to my birthday party
- Mr Brightside (The Doctor's fave)
- Kids
- Dakota
- Pumped up kicks

And so on ...

After a few hours of dancing (much to the sadness of the rest of the family outside) they turned off the music, got into their pyjamas and went to bed.

The pair cuddled up closely in Yaz's bed. Yaz has her head cradled in the doctor's shoulder with her arm draped around her waist.
"Yasmin Khan. I am in love with you"
"Oh Doctor I am in love with you much more than the universe is capable of handling"
