Looking down you see him standing on a platform just beneath the hull of the ship waving for you to come. You jump down after him despite your fears. And when you turn around, what you see is quite astounding. The platform beneath the ship is one enormous loading dock with many individual landing pads each made to fit different sizes of ships. The officer leads you towards one of the docking bays where a little rusty shuttle is sitting with a spout dumping heaven knows what into the giant rear end of it which looks like a giant laundry basket.
"Now listen carefully, what I'm going to say is very important, if you don't follow my precise instructions, you could very well end up floating through the endlessly vast vacuum of space,..."
His voice trails off. You were never very good at listening to your teachers, and now you find yourself doing the same thing. No matter how many times they told you how important something was your head still got stuck in the peanut gallery, daydreaming, getting distracted by the odd looking machinery around you. You'd never seen anything like it on earth,..., right, earth! That's what was nagging at the back of your brain this whole time. You're trying to get back to earth. Oh, that's right, this guy said something about giving you instructions on how to get there,... .
"I see worry in your eyes. Are you really sure you want to go?"
