You near a set of double oak doors as the familiar smell of food becomes more distinct. Once you walk through the door you're amazed at how hungry you feel since you hadn't eaten dinner when you got home. Feeling suddenly homesick you long for your comfy bed and quiet forest behind your house and you start to wonder if you'll ever get home.
"Come", the captain says as he pulls you out of your thoughts, "The trash shuttle will be here soon and you don't want to miss it if your planning on getting home."
He leads you to a table in the back of the mess hall and waves for you to sit down.
"My officer here will tell you what to do, for I must get back to the bridge."
He swiftly vanishes back through the doors and is replaced by a tall man, or woman (by which you cannot tell) who promptly asks : "What would you like to eat?"
"Uuhhhhhh..."
"We have any selection of food you can think of ."
"Then I'll just have some beef stew please.", you say meekly.
And with that he turns on his heel and hurries off into the kitchen. Looking around you realize that there are tons of different kinds of species of aliens, but they all resemble humans, "except for that dude over there, I mean what is he doing, he's like drooling everywhere, ugh disgusting. Great now I just lost my train of thought. "
Meanwhile as your looking off into the distance a waiter brings you your food. You try it and it tastes just like the kind your mom makes for you. It's so delicious you jump up and exclaim:"Mmmhhhhhhhh uh dats sooooooorr goooorrd!"
All at once 50 eyes are on you.
"Uuhhhh, sorwy bout dat, mrrhh, lemme just finish chewing here."
Gulp.
"Huh, wow that was embarrassing. Sorry everybody, don't mind me, I was, uh just on my way out the door."
Pushing through the grinning crowd you reach the doors, but then suddenly the officer appears next to you and says:" Not that way."
He steers you to a side door and swipes the lock with the sleeve of his uniform. The door beeps and reveals a corridor with a door on the right at the end of the hall.
"Don't be alarmed."
He says in an almost rehearsed tone, as he pulls a large lever out of the wall. Suddenly a wall slides down from the ceiling behind you and immediately you hear the sound of locks being activated in the floor beneath.
"Commencing decompression", says a robot voice as all the air gets sucked out of the whole room.
"Decompression, complete."
The officer grabs the handle on the door on pulls. You can hear a pneumatic hiss as the seal in the door is being compromised.
Then he jumps.
You gasp:"Is he crazy!? He's just going to fly through outer space until he runs out of air, huhhhhhh, how am I breathing?!"
"You ask too many questions kid."
"Whuu?"
You look down. Whoa.
