All of a sudden a bright light shines from the sky above and...
Black.
Your eyes flutter open and you try to make out your surroundings as your sight starts to come back into focus. And then you gasp. Enormous, human like "things" are examining, not you, but what you're laying on. Still a bit dizzy, you sit up and realize you're on an inky black rock with bright blue and red colors swirling around on the surface. Alarmed you jump back, but surprisingly no one notices you. Or so you thought. The biggest one of them approaches you and says :"Come with me, the Captain wishes to speak with you in his quarters. ""Y-y-you sp-p-speak E-E-E-English?" you stutter.
"The Captain will explain everything, nowhere come."
He turns around and heads to the back of the room, where he enters a huge elevator, big enough to fit 10 full-size elephants or in this case 20 ...well whatever these things are. Your feeling a bit uncomfortable standing next to, what seems to be the 2nd in Command, oh and also the fact that a guard has a gun to your back.As you enter the room your bedazzled by the breathtaking view outside the 5 meter tall and 10 meter wide window, not to mention all the little bronze and silver knick-knocks in display cases lining the back wall of the room. You quickly realize that the carpet is actually a soft purple plant that ripples according to the direction your walking in. As you approach the captain, who's sitting at his desk, he smiles at you and says:
"Would you like to sit down?"
He gestures towards a chair in front of his desk.
A bit nervous you waver to sit down. The captain although seemed to have been reading your thoughts and dismisses the guards.
You sit down and say:
"W-where am I?"
"You, my friend are in Charlie sector 5490-z in the Lexi system."
"Wait, what?"
"Let me put it this way, your 8 billion light years away from the Milky Way"
"H-how?"
"Well, let's just say when we where extracting the Amorite ..."
"The Ama-what?"
"Amorite, one of the most powerful substances in the world, it creates a sort of atmosphere around whatever body of mass it's currently near. We helped your government extract it from the earth because it had created a sort of atmosphere around earths core, which was messing up its gravitational pull."
" Sooo w-why d-d-do y-y-you need m-m-me?Are y-y-you g-g-going t-to e-experiment o-on m-m-me?"
"No, we just wanted the Amorite."
"WHAT!!WHY AM I STUCK HERE THAN!?"
"Well we did sweep the area, but you were directly on top of the Amorite, and since the Amorite gives off a heat signature are sensors couldn't detect you."
"So why don't you just take me back?!"
"Well, that's the thing, you see it's easier to return from earth than it is to get to earth..."
"What do you mean?"
"You know, Customs and all that..."
"What?"
"Let me put it this way, it's always harder to get on a plane because you have to check in and drop off your bags and go through security and so on, right? But when you get off the plane you can just, well leave. OK, maybe you have to go through baggage claim, ugggghhh, so annoying...", he mumbles under his breath, "But you get the point"
"So how long would it take to get back to earth?"
"Um..."
"Yeah?"
"It would probably take 10 years."
"WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"We're really truly sorry for the inconvenience..."
"THE INCONVE...what am I going to do", you cry, "I'm never getting home"
"Well, you have two choices, you can either come with us and go on an adventure of a lifetime, huh, not kidding with the whole lifetime thing am I right? Get it, since you would probably never get home..."
"Thanks for making that clear...", you say sarcastically.
"But there is an alternative, a trash shuttle will be here in an hour, you could secretly board it and make your way back to earth, but as I said before, it takes 10 years to reach earth from here, and there are dangers beyond your imagination out there...", he says darkly.
"So, what's it gonna be?", he says smiling down at you. What will you do?
Board the trash shuttle(p.6)
Stay on the research cruiser(p.7)
