Wilmer placed his hand on her lower back, like he used to do, leading her towards the kitchen.
The smell of chicken entered them, making them hungry. Even though Wilmer knew that Demi was strong now and had overcome her problems, he couldn't help but gaze at her worried.
Demi smiled at him, knowing why he was worried. She placed her hand on his cheek and pecked his lips.
"Honey, it's okay" She smiled at him and walked towards her father.
Wilmer smiled too and went to greet Demi's family.
"Well, guys, sit down" Dianna said, placing the last dish on the large table.
Dallas, Eddie, Dianna, Maddie, Demi and Wilmer sat down.
Wilmer felt how Demi grabbed his hand under the table, caressing his hand with her thumb. He looked at her. Demi gave him a sweet smile and mouthed a quick "I love you" towards him.
"I love you too" He mouthed back and then Demi let go of his hand because Fianna was handing her a dish.
Dinner started. Everyone was laughing, making jokes, talking and enjoying the delicious food.
"Guys, I wanna say something" Demi said, catching everyone's attention.
"What is it, sweetie?" Eddie wanted to know.
Demi took a deep breath.
"I know this might be random but... I want to thank this man that's sitting right next to me" She said and her eyes locked with Wilmer's, who seemed to be surprised.
"We all know that I've been through a lot... We all know that it's been difficult for us. And, even though, he could've walked away like others did, he stayed by my side. Supporting me..." She grabbed his hand tightly. "Wilmer, I love you so much... You're my everything... I don't know what I would do without you. I would probably die in sadness... You saved my life, baby... So thank you"
No one said a word. Madison and Dallas looked at the couple, thinking they were the cutest. Dianna rested her head on Eddie's shoulder. Eddie kissed the top of Dianna's head.
"Nena, I love you so much... I can't even talk right now... I did not expect this... You're the best thing that could've happened to me... I love you, hermosa" And he closed the gap between their lips, kissing her tenderly.
When they pulled apart, happy tears were falling down her cheeks. She smiled through them while Wilmer wiped them away for her, like he always did.
"You guys are so cute!" Maddie exclaimed all of a sudden. "Stop it already! I can't handle your cuteness" Dallas added, making them all laugh a bit.
