She bent down and moved he hands slowly so she wouldn't freak the Griffin out, and put her hand on the trap. She almost got the trap open when a gunshot shot right by her. The Griffin freaked out but didn't hurt Dawn, it picked her up and put her behind it. Layla woke up to the gunshot and saw that Dawn was gone, so she left the tent and went looking for her.
"Don't you dare let that dangerous animal go, it may act nice to you now but once you let it go it will attack you" a man told Dawn.
"I doubt that, its harmless" she said while opening the trap as quitly as possible.
She freed the Griffin, it picked her up with its beak, threw her on its back, and flew away. The man looked up aimed the gun at the Griffin, and shot at it. The bullet scraped the Griffin's skin, it cried a loud cry, Layla heard the noise looked up and saw something huge fly over her head. Dawn looked down and saw Layla.
"Layla up here!" Dawn yelled as her and the Griffin passed by
Layla looked up, saw Dawn, and said "Are you really riding on the Griffin that chased use?"
"Yeah I guess so!" She screamed back
The Griffin swooped down, picked up Layla with its beak and threw her on its back. Her heart was pounding, but also felt safe and free up in the air with the Griffin.
The Griffin brought Layla and Dawn back to their camp, landed, let them go back to bed, and it stayed and kept watch the rest of the night.
That morning Dawn woke up, looked out and saw the Griffin was still there.  "So what do you want to name her?" Layla asked scaring Dawn
"I don't know" Dawn answered back smiling
The Griffin looked behind it and growled in a low yet sweet way. Layla and Dawn both smiled, giggled, and looked at each other.
                              ...
Layla and Dawn decided to stay at the camp site, until the day they are supposed to head home. Dawn and Layla set up traps so they could get more food, because the raccoon had ate some of their food they were supposed to have for that day. The Griffin went hunting so she got out of sight of Layla and Dawn. They heard a gunshot then a roar, Dawn and Layla looked behind them and didn't see the Griffin, they finished setting up the last trap and they went searching for the Griffin.
They found the man, that had shot at Dawn, lying on the ground. They looked everywhere for the Griffin but they couldn't find it.
"Where is she?" Layla asked
"She?" The man said waking up "You mean the Griffin"
"Yes, now where is she?" Dawn answered back angrily
"She saw me, I shot at her she, roared then she hit me with her tail, don't trust her she's dangerous" the man answered
"Stop saying she's dangerous, she's only dangerous when she feel threatened, and she sure doesn't feel threatened by us" Dawn answered back angrily
"Come on Dawn don't waste your breath on him, he won't help us, we will have to find her on our own" Layla said interrupting
