That night, after they had chased the raccoon out of the tent, Dawn woke up to a noise she had never heard before, she was debating on waking up Layla or not, she decided not to. It was something odd, it had a beak, a neck, wings like a bird, legs, body, and a tail like a lion. Layla woke up and noticed Dawn gone, Layla heard a loud scream and ran towards the noise.
Layla soon found Dawn and said "are you ok?"
"Run" Dawn said
Layla looked up and saw the odd thing, she screamed and Dawn and Layla ran as fast as they could but the thing was too fast. They eventually found a temporary place to hide.
"What is that thing?" Layla asked
"I think it's a Griffin" Dawn answered as she peeked around the corner to see if the Griffin was there or not.
"Its clear" Dawn said looking back at Layla
They left the hiding spot and they were almost back at camp. Layla looked around the tree right before turning towords the camp, and the Griffin was right in her face.
Layla screamed "RUN!!!!!"
They ran and took the long way back to camp, when they made it back to camp it was almost dark.
"We head home tomorrow morning, deal?" Layla said
"Deal" Dawn answered back
That night Layla woke up to a loud cry that she had never heard before, she figured it was the Griffin trying to lure her out so she ignored the noise and went to bed.Then not an hour later Dawn woke up to the same cry, it wasn't like the noise from earlier when it roared it was like a cry for help, so Dawn being Dawn, a curious 17 year old, went to go see what the cry for help was for.
She heard the noise again, and it was super close, she had looked around and saw a shadow, she started heading towards the shadow, peeked around a corner and saw the Griffin, that had chased Dawn and Layla, in a bear trap.
It looked at her with scared eyes, and she went up to it really slow, stuck her hand out, and it sniffed her hand. Her heart was pounding, but all it did was sniff her. It looked her in the eyes, moved its head under her hand, and she pet it. Right then her heart started beating normal again, and she had just realized she had become friends with the Griffin.
