When I woke up, I stayed in bed, not having the power to lift myself up. I mean I could sit up but of course I was too tired - it took so much energy.
Sometimes I wish I could do things like normal people.
Finally my door opened and my mother stepped in. "Morning, sweetie."
I forced a smile. "Hi ma."
Mum helped me sit up and slowly lifted me on my chair. She picked up my clothes from where she had left them after washing them. Then, slowly again and with much effort, she helped me dress up. "Mum, mum, mum, mum." I stopped her hand when she was about to take my shirt off. "I can dress myself."
Mum's hand stopped and she nodded. "Of course." She left the clothes on my chair and left.
I sighed. "Right," I muttered to myself. "Let's get this over with."

Half an hour later I was fully dressed and out of my room. After my... accident we moved to a house that had no stairs, so I went straight to the kitchen to see mum by the stove. I rolled the wheels to get in there and asked what was for breakfast.
"Porridge," she replied with a smile.
I smiled back. I needed to eat healthy if I were to maintain my health. Plus, I loved porridge. For mum, I tried to keep a smile on through the day, but for myself I cried myself to sleep.
Mum took a plate for me and placed the porridge on it. She smiled as she put the plate in front of me and I started eating.

"She can't walk, maybe ever," the doctor said.
My eyes widened and I couldn't speak.
"Yes she can, God dammit!" my father yelled. "She will win the Olympics one day, this isn't real!"
"I'm afraid it is, mr. Evans. Your daughter is paralyzed waist down due to the power of the crash. I'm sorry, Leanne." The doctor looked at me with a sympathetic smile, then at father with a cold expression before leaving the room.
Father pulled his hair and walked over to my bed. "Listen, bitch. You will win the games for me or you aren't my daughter. Understand? I will leave your slut of a mother and you if you don't bring pride to my name."
He slapped me across the face and left, leaving me alone to cry.
That's where I always woke up.
