10 years ago, The fall of Grandmaster Zaratras

As Kanda and the seven deadly sins walk through the old castle building to meet the grandmaster, she listened in on what the others were saying.

"I was hoping to get in a few drinks to celebrate the founding of the kingdom" Meliodas says a little disappointed.

"You've never needed an excuse to knock em' back before" king replies

"Guess your right" He says making Kanda chuckle a bit from behind them, Ban looks over at her when she does and smiles a bit under his helmet.

"Sounded like the grandmaster had something important to discuss" Merlin says getting everyone to refocus.

"Maybe he's gonna give us a special reward for our excellent handling of that business with the Troll Queen!" Diane says excitedly.

"Well it's all the same to me, lets get scolded then go celebrate" Meliodas replies still sounding a bit upset.

"You expect a dressing down" Kanda says with a bit of humour laced in her voice. 

The seven deadly sins continue on their way till they reach the doors to the grandmaster, as King and Meliodas open the doors Meliodas calls out. "Hey We're here". Meliodas then quickly gasps and yells out "grandmaster." All the sins look at him in shock, seeing him being impaled by a huge amount of spears and swords. Kanda looks on silently not knowing what to do or say.

"That's Brutal"

"He's a pin cushion"

"Who would do this" Some of the sins say mournful of what has happened to the beloved grandmaster.

"More Importantly, why did they target the leader of the Holy Knights?" Merlin Questions.

"You're right. The grandmaster is the linchpin of the kingdoms defense, he's practically a war god. Whoever killed him is a traitor and must be plotting to overthrow Liones". Ban adds in.

"And they knew precisely what his loss was gonna mean" Diane says miserably. King suddenly turns his head to the side, telling them he senses something. Quickly Meliodas runs to the window. "Wait, What" he says confused as all the guards of Liones stand around the old tower.

"We're surrounded by every knight in the kingdom!"

"There are too many of them out there to count, what are they planning to do-" Diane is cut off as the tower is hit and shakes roughly.

"Damn, they've started their attacks" Ban pronounces quickly, Meliodas turns around with a determined look on his face.

"We'll figure it out, but for now let's split up, We'll meet again later!" He says urgently, Ban answers with an 'understood' and all the sins split up into different directions.

Kanda looks to Meliodas for instructions on what to do, after all she is just an apprentice holy knight. Meliodas quickly comes up with an idea and informs her on what to do, "Are you sure this is gonna work?"She questions him. 

"I'm Positive, only we know your the 8th sin, they dont. Use it to your advantage and when the time is right we'll meet up again" Meliodas reassures her, she nods unsure and heads to the front entrance. Kanda runs out screaming and crying telling the leader there, that she saw them kill the grandmaster.

"They killed him! They killed Zaratras!!" she screams, crying starting to blame herself for not trying to stop them.

The leader quickly tries making her feel better and tells her it isn't her fault, he sends her to be checked on, once she is fully checked she convinces him to let her fight and get revenge on what they've done. Once convinced she runs to find one of the sins and hears a faint 'Hunter Fest', she instantly knows who it is and heads over to him.

Kanda watches his red armour rummage through all the holy knight's and runs up to attack him from behind, she slams her sword into his back knocking him over, while he's down she tells the other holy knights that she can handle him from here, and to help the others. As Ban gets up and turns towards the holy knight angrily, he's shocked to see its Kanda, She runs up and they clash weapons.

"Just go with the fight, it was the captain's idea" Kanda quickly whispers to Ban from under her helmet, Ban nods and hits Kanda back roughly knowing that she can take it, they then exchange in a full out attack. Other holy knights watch on as the apprentice holy knight goes up against one of her mentors for a short while but soon prepare for when she's hurt. Ban kicks Kanda into the side of a building and walks up to her, using one hand he picks her up and uses his fox hunt to keep away the holy knights trying to save her. 

"Sorry Wolf" Ban whispers to her before he knocks her against the wall, she stays and watches him leave before closing her eyes.
