Third-person POV

Nick had gone to Claire's house. She was hanging the laundry when he found her.

"Hey, beautiful." he greeted with his infamous smile. That smile still made her feel butterflies in her stomach.

"What are you doing here?" she asked, alarmed.

"I want you to be at the Royal Gardens park today at 15h30. The theme is black and white."

"White at a park? Do any of you have brains?" she chuckled to herself which Nick rolled his eyes at her.

"Don't be late, Claire."

Nick left and Claire rolled her eyes at his backside.

Nick was annoyed by Claire and she was annoyed because he was annoyed.

Claire walked over to the door and called "Mom! Mommy!"

"What's wrong?" asked her mom, rushing to her.

"I need your help with the laundry. We're having extra classes for physics at school."

"Why didn't you tell me earlier? I wouldn't have let you do the laundry in the first place."

"I only received the message now. I'm going to get ready."

"Okay, dear. But you are going to iron when you get back."

Claire ran off to her room and grabbed her phone, immediately dialling Bianca's number. Blanca answered and Claire screamed.

"Who died?" asked Bianca.

"You're so funny, Be." laughed Claire "Nick just invited me to the squad picnic. This is all happening so fast, it's exciting."

"I wouldn't be that happy if I were you."

"And why is that?"

"Carlisle wasn't exactly happy with you vomiting on Nick. Natalie didn't like that you forgave him as easily as you did. They think you're easy, Claire."

Claire threw herself on her bed and sighed. She thought that Natalie liked her. She sighed again and asked in a soft tone "How do I fix this?"

"Abort the mission! Abort. The. Mission." yelled Mandy in the background.

"Ignore that idiot." said Bianca, referring to Mandy. "Look, I won't be able to be at the picnic today so there goes an opportunity to prove yourself, but you can go there looking fab as ever and try to change the subject when they talk about something that makes you uncomfortable and please ignore Kieran."

"Okay, I'll try my best to mingle." said Claire in a convincing tone. She wanted not only to convince Bianca that she could handle the situation, but she wanted to convince herself as well

"Good luck, Clary."

Claire hung up and got up to look for an outfit.

Meanwhile Nina was talking to Natalie about the incident. She defended her cousin saying "Claire does not drink alcohol, her dad would assassinate her for even looking at a glass of alcohol."

"Then why did she vomit on one of my boys?" asked Natalie, she had put her forming friendship aside and was focused on justifying the matter.

"They are not your boys! And you should ask Nick that. I'd also throw up if he was in my presence."

Just after she spoke, Nick walked in asking "Who's presence?"

Nina gave Nick a mean glare before walking away.
