Claire and Claud

Chapter Four

Claire's POV

"I told you that you're not meant for morons like Claud."

Mandy was furious when I had told her about yesterday. She has always disliked him and now she hated him. She went on and on about how much of an asshole Claud was then she'd sit down and hug me then started all over again.

I only paid attention to her tantrums for a little bit before I went back to sulking. I somehow didn't believe it happened. In my head, Claud pulled me into his arms and kissed my forehead. I'd be content, listening to his heart playing the drums.

But something at the back of my head kept repeating his insult over and over in my head.

He has no respect for you!

He doesn't think greatly of you!

He doesn't love you!

He'll never love you!

"Mandy! Claire! Anybody here?" called someone from outside.

"Is that Bianca?" I asked. I needed Bianca, she knew me best and she'd know how to make the pain go away.

Mandy shook her head, "That doesn't sound like Bianca."

"Claire!" called Nina as she barged into my room and ran over to me, pulling me into a hug. "I'm so sorry. Nick told me what happened."

Nick had walked in after Claud had left, he saw me in tears and knew it had something to do with Claud. After a few minutes of Nick comforting me, Kieran came back with the first-aid kit and said that Carlisle was with Natalie. Nick then asked Kieran to walk me home while he 'talks' to Claud.

"How is he?" I asked. I was worried about Nick. He and Claud could seriously hurt each other.

"He's coping and even asked me to apply make-up to cover his bruises. His cheek and upper lip are swollen and he has a huge gash on his stomach. But he'll survive, you know how Nick is." answered Nina.

Her eyes always sparkled whenever she talked about him. You could see it in how happier she was. I probably looked like that when Claud's name was mentioned.

"And Claud?"

Mandy and Nina stared wide eyed at me.

"Please. I need to know."

"You don't need to know. You want to know." said Mandy, disappointment laced in every word she spoke.

"Nina!" I shouted, ignoring Mandy. I needed to know.

"He's just as badly beaten up as Nick. I haven't seen him yet."

I sighed. Not in relief, but for the sake of sighing. Maybe because the situation was frustrating.

"I have an idea." said Mandy with a devious grin. "Bianca mentioned something about a fire thingie tonight. It's not a party and most members of the squad don't attend, we can crash and give Claud an additional beating."

Nina laughed, "Crash! I find you so amusing."

"I can do it. You two will break in and open up for me."

"So that Claire and I get into trouble, no." laughed Nina "Let's go with Nick. Yeah. Claire can go with Nick then you and I can get Natalie to let us in."

"The plan is set. I'll get us weapons. We're going to be discreet."

Nina and I laughed. Mandy can be a goofball when necessary and she knew it was necessary because her goofy side always made my day.
