Claire's POV

I've been waiting for Bianca for hours now. I had texted her about my missing phone case. Lie. She had agreed to walk me to the Squad House so I can 'find my phone case'.
We agreed to meet at the taxi rank and I was thirty minutes early as usual whereas she was three hours late.

Why was I still here?

She'd always text me that she was nearby and I believed her for the twenty times she had informed me. You've got to have a little bit of hope when it came to Bianca.

I took out my phone for the thousandth time and checked the time. 17h20. I'm suppose to be home in seventy minutes. I sighed and put my phone back in my jean pocket.

Sometimes hoping won't make things happen.

As I began walking home, I heard someone call my name. A male's voice. Probably thugs who've mastered everything about me and are now ready to attack. The thought made me wince and I picked up my pace.

"Claire!"

That voice sounded familiar. Having a mental conflict with myself, I stopped walking. As soon as I did, I felt a hand on my shoulder and I instinctively moved away from the person, turned around to identify them then landed a punch. Only this time I landed a punch before identifying the person. He ducked this time.

"I'm starting to think that you're not a very big fan of my face." he said with a fake frown.

I laugh-smiled at him. How could he think that? He's perfect. From his refined jawline to his straight and pointed nose. His long eyelashes and light brown eyes to his full and subtle lips. He was perfect in every way. If people didn't agree with me then I wouldn't care because he's perfect to me and how I felt about mattered the most.

"Claire?"

I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at him. He wasn't smiling like I was at him, but he still held a friendly facial expression.

"Claire, I asked if you'd like to see how right I was about Natalie. She's been in a good mood all day."

"Oh. O-of course." I uttered.

"Let's go then." said Claud as he gestured me to walk forward.

I smiled before starting to walk and he walked alongside me.

The walk started off in silence, I was enjoying his presence, having him near me, our arms constantly touching mainly because I had my head on the ground, eyeing and dodging all the big rocks. I often smiled to myself after stealing a glance once or twice or thrice... quite a lot of times. Claud walked in confidence, his head was up and his eyes focused on the path whereas I found myself looking down shyly or biting my lips. I was about to steal another glance at him, feeling the need to get explosions in my stomach, I lifted my head and turned to him. His eyes were already on me, studying me. My cheeks heat up and I immediately looked away, I couldn't let him see me blush.

"Claire." his voice was deep and soothing.

"Y-yes, Claud."

I faced him and gave a friendly smile. He didn't smile back, he only kept a kind facial expression.

"Why are you always smiling? Whenever I see you, you're smiling. Why is that?" asked Claud, sounding really curious.

I only focused on "whenever I see you" that means that he's noticed me. It does, right? I could feel my heart jumping for joy in my chest AKA my heart rate quickened.

"Claire? Why are you always dozing off on me?" he sounded annoyed. I made a mental noteto never let my mind wonder off while he's with me.

When he is with me. I internally smiled at that.
