[Adam]

I got up before the alarm could even lay a sound on me.

The routine was pretty straightforward — except now I won't have to wake Zoe up to school. I didn't feel like coming to work and the movie selection was getting old. I would expect Nick to come and accompany me throughout the day but he was immersed in the search. I didn't tell him he didn't have to but I desperately want to find my sister, no matter how lazy I looked. The underground stretched a good distance so it would take months to scour the entire community.

I had my laptop ready and a few books to if I wanted to switch to reading. The computer gleamed to life and my fingers typed away things similar to what I had witnessed 2 nights ago. I didn't end up with anything in particular. I just saw robots and how to build some and how they were supposedly going to destroy the world. How accurate.

I heard the door open up from the living room. After Nicholas got a duplicate, he left my original key hanging from a hook next to the front door. That made me, Nick and Zoe the only people that can enter the house without having to knock or ring the doorbell. Saves me a lot of time getting up and answering it.

He went to where I was — the living room — and greeted me as if nothing traumatic ever happened. He was thrilled to be leading a search party so I guess that balanced out the depressed aura of my crushed but recovering soul.

"Hi Adam! How are you today?" He asked blissfully. No worry in the world.

I stopped browsing and faced towards him. Last time I checked in the mirror, I never had my face get the response Nick gave to me.

"Holy—," He grimaced, taking a step back, "What happened to you?"

"Do I look that bad?" I complained, raising a brow in sheer irritation. I took a shower and everything and this is what he gives me? He cleared his throat, "I guess I saw worse things. Your not exactly what I was expecting."

He messed up his hair into that of a morning hairdo. He was probably imitating what I look like. "Your eyes and nose is a tad bit red. Did you tear up and caught a cold or something?"

"I took a shower, thank you very much. As for the redness, I guess I was crying in my sleep and maybe a few tears fell while I was bathing. I sneezed uncontrollably for a bit but its fading." The description didn't seem all to disgusting for me to agree.

"From the neck to your toes apparently," He teased, "Anyway, what are you doing?"

"I was just browsing robots, why?"

He shot a confused look at me, "Nothing. Why are you searching robots?"

"I tried to recall what happened two nights ago. The kidnapper seemed to look bulky, not in the traditional sense but it looked like he was made of metal—." I watched him change his 'I-thought-you-had-something-better-to-do-than-browse-robots' facial expression to 'Ah-now-I-see-you-point'. He continued what I was trying to imply and he was pretty spot on, "So you thought you can find something online and tried to match your description."

I nodded.

"You have any leftover breakfast? I was consumed in the search all night long." He said. I knew he would say something like that. I pointed to the kitchen, "Bacon strips and some scrambled eggs. I can heat them up for you if you like."
