Chapter 7

The Boy Who Lived And The Dark Lord's Daughter

" Come on, Emrys, there has to be something you can do to keep us dry." Cass complained as we all huddled under a Jacy's old umbrella, that was doing vey little to keep the four of us dry. I had pulled my hair back to keep it out of my face, but it did nothing against the strong winds. All of us were supporting Gryffindor today, except for Jackie who had stayed loyal to her own house, and Spencer who was watching Cedric Diggory with a strange look on his face.

" Who do you think I am? Mother Nature?" I questioned watching as we watched Harry fly around the quidditch pitch in search of the golden snitch. " Emrys, look." Jackie cried pointed toward the ground below him when it was clear that he had seen the snitch. Floating below harry was about a dozen dementors, and they were all watching Harry. Harry slipped sideways off the broom as he got closer, and gasps filled the pitch as he hit the muddy ground, almost as if in slow motion.

The game ended at that same moment as Cedric Diggory, the seeker of Hufflepuff team caught the snitch. Harry was taken up to hospital wing, while Dumbledore ran onto the pitch, and in a rare show anger sent the Dementors back to the edge of Hogwarts grounds.

I visited Harry a few days later during lunch, he seemed surprised to see me, but once he got over his shock, it became very awkward. " So...um.." He trailed off and I bit my lip as he let out a breath. " Emrys-"

" You might as well just ask, Harry. I'm not going to lie to you, I have no reason to." I muttered quietly.

" Your Voldemort's daughter." He said. " How do I even know I can trust you? You could be secretly sending him information for all I know, or planning to help him rise again, or-"

" You can believe whatever you like, Harry, you have that choice, which I will respect." I told him looking away. " But I want to ask you something, before you make your decision to hate me. Why would I betray the person I owe my life to, to someone I never even wanted to know in the first place?"

" I don't want-"

" Well that's how I see it, Harry Potter, because of you I get to choose who I am."

He seemed stunned and went quiet for several minutes before asking. " You passed out on the train too, didn't you?"

" Yes, why?"

" Did you hear...screaming?"

" Screaming? No, Harry." I responded. " I did get hit with a lot of negative emotions though. Dementors feed on negative emotions, so..." I trailed off. " I've never been good at controlling my emotions, even with my extra abilities." I admitted before I smirked. " I could pummel Malfoy, if you wanted me to? Sneak Persephone into his bed, or something? Give him a good fright."

" Tempting, but I think I'll just stick with ignoring him."

" Gryffindors." I muttered, and we shared a smile.

Maybe we could be friends?

*********

I stared glumly at the letter I had just received from my mother, and Cass frowned the look on my face. " Trouble?"

" Mum and her overprotectiveness." I sighed. " Another Christmas at Hogwarts."

" I'm staying too." Spencer said. " My dad will be home, and It's hard enough facing him these days." He admitted. Cass and Jackie were staying to, Cass because she didn't want to leave incase something happened with Buckbeak, who she had grown very close to despite the fact no one was supposed to go near him; Jackie was staying because she didn't want to spend the holidays alone with Cass's strange family. It was to be the first Christmas that the four of us spent at Hogwarts together, we even exchanged gifts that we had bought in Hogsmeade.

" Who's is that one?" Cass asked looking up from the book on dragons I had found for her.

" I got Harry something, is that wrong?"

" No, we just didn't know you were friends again." Jackie said, waving a piece of tensil in front of Theodore's nose. " I told him the truth, I don't really know what else I can do to show him that I'm on his side."

" You got him something good, right?" Spencer asked, turning his attention away from Persephone, who he was attempting to attach a large bow to. Persephone was draped lazily across his lap, and didn't seem to mind. Persephone, was Spencer's very large pet Python.

" I got him a book on quidditch, I thought he would like it." I said before unwrapping the large tin of cookies my mom sent me every year, and offered them one.

" Your mum is the best." Cass sighed leaning back against the couch as she nibbled on one with a look of pure bliss."
