Today is the last day of the holiday. The four of us make a pact to come back here once a year. We arrive at the airport and brace ourselves for a long flight.
We get to my house and are super tired and head to bed.
In the morning I wake up and eat some breakfast. The others clamber into my room and we complain about jet lag.
After a while, and by a while I mean like at night, Samuel and Lou head home. Me and Jess run back upstairs as Auntie Mattie had to go to a bank appointment abroad and this was Jess's house as much as mine. I begin to text Samuel to discuss how we are going to open the box. He wants to be as careful as possible. Jess enters the room with some ice cream"who you texting cass? As far as I can remember, you barely have anyone on your phone" just then a pregnancy ad comes in and Jess frowns.
"eh, just Samuel. We're discussing something" I reply and Jess wriggles her eyebrows "no not that! Sometimes your worst than Lou! And she straight up shipped us like forever."
"I need to step up to Lou's standards" Jess says eating her ice cream.
"say Jessie, if you were to go and look for something that may cause you great harm but you look for it to stop it. what would you do?" I ask, I carefully place my words just so nothing slips out.
"well if something causes you great harm I would look for it but be VERY careful. And don't kill yourself. Why?"
"Just writing a wattpad story!"
Jess nods and we continue watching the movie and eating.
