*Julianna's POV*
We were speeding down the road towards the lake house and we heard Kurt call out, "Hey let me get that spot!"
I looked out the window and saw Eric come speeding past Kurt yelling back, "Hey got to respect the caddie!" I sat back and laughed. We parked next to Eric's car and walked up to the porch where a bug zapper was getting rid of the moths.
"Daddy what's that machine doing?" Becky asked.
I looked up at dad as explained, "It's getting rid of the moth's honey."
"Where's it taking them?" She asked still not quite understanding.
"Hell," Marcus chuckled.
Dad looked at him and said, "Don't say that Higgins."
Marcus looked up and said, "Oh sorry not hell Mexico."
Dad stood on the porch and explained to Becky that it's making them fall asleep electrically. That wasn't the best way to tell her she cried, "It's electrocuting them, but daddy their dying!"
He shook his head but Donna and Charlotte yelled, "It's killing them!" then the zapper killed another moth.
Becky yelled, "Daddy no!" This caused dad to rush up the steps and unplug it.
He picked up a moth saying that they're alright but when he threw it in the air it just fell to the ground and he said, "He's still sleeping."
Greg then commented, "Its dead dad," mum looked at him before she pinching his arm. He cried out in pain causing me to giggle under my breathe. I watched as Momma McKenzie noticed the porch swing and made her way pushing Keithie to the ground in the process. I helped him stand back up as he dusted himself off, that's when Rob had opened the door to let us all inside.
I looked around the house as everyone admired the living room and kitchen. That when I noticed everyone walking into another part of the house with everyone shouting above each other. I followed behind them until we came to the master bedroom, Eric said that dad should have that room but when mum went to walk inside dad stopped her saying that the kids should have it. All the kids walked inside and I saw that Greg and Keithie had noticed the t.v and questioned it.
"Hey dad," Greg called, "What's the big box attached to the back of the t.v?"
"Uh that's the rest of the t.v bud," Dad said whilst looking into the room at us.
Keithie laughed, "Wow, that is some stone-age shiznit," he announced with a smile. I laughed and heard the adults having their own conversation when all of a sudden Bean ran in screaming and clung to my waist. I looked at him and patted his back in comfort, and then we all chose where to sleep and I got to sleep on the bed next to Andre.
I opened my suitcase and took out another set of clothes to change into. I pulled out a white button up shirt, a red skirt with a black belt and a red bow and the side with a pair of red flats. After I changed I headed outside to see all of the dads sitting on lawn chairs talking, I jogged over to Curly, Eric's dog, and had him chase me around but I had to make sure the back of my skirt didn't fly up.
After a little while we got tired and sat in front of the dads and curly placed his head in my lap as I patted his head when I heard Kurt call my name, "Julianna!"
I looked up and saw they were all staring at me, "Why are you the only child outside?" Marcus asked.
I shrugged my shoulder and stood up brushing off my skirt, "I don't like spending too much time inside so I play soccer in my spare time," I said.
At the sound of video games dad got up and went inside and came out with Keithie and Greg on his shoulders announced, "That's it no more video games, no more cell phones, no more texting, from now on stay outside and play," he gestured to the outdoors while they looked at him in disbelief.
"What are we supposed to do?" Greg questioned.
Dad urged, "Just play like normal kids common move it!" he turned and questioned, "Where's Becky?" I saw her walk down the steps and run towards me before she grabbed a hold of my hand and smiled up at me. I smiled back and squeezed her hand before following the rest of the group.
We were all walking through the woods talking about what they did as kids, "Hey Greg," Kurt called, "When we were kids your used to talk us into the craziest shit, we would take shopping carts put on a shower curtain and go shopping cart sailing."
Andre turned and questioned, "Wait how'd you steer?"
Eric chuckled, "Oh we didn't."
I looked down to see where I was stepping, "How'd you stop?" I inquired.
"You just smash into stuff that was the fun part," dad said still leading us through the woods. He then started to build a tree fort when he spotted something. That something turned out to be a rope on a tree, Charlotte made a sarcastic comment on that we could hang ourselves, "Are you kidding me, you see a rope and a lake and that doesn't wanna make you go nuts?" Dad questioned.
Eric stuttered before he pushed through the kids and went up to the rope, heading to the top rock and running off, he cheered as he flew but didn't let go being too scared. He hit a tree and dropped to the ground before rolling down the small hill we were standing on.
Keithie then exclaimed, "That was awesome!"
Everyone was all cheering seeing as it was pretty cool but stopped when Eric started screaming that his leg snapped, I turned and hid my face in Andre's chest in fright chest. We then heard laughter coming from Eric saying it was only a stick, we all laughed but I stopped when I heard a chirping noise coming from the ground.
Becky then yelled, "Daddy that bird is hurt!"
We all looked and saw a bird trying to fly but couldn't because off its injured wing. Dad then ran to get a shoe box, while Marcus went to help Eric up, I carefully went down and gently picked up the bird. Dad came back with the shoe box and I put the injured bird in the box as gently as I could and handed it to Becky before we started heading back to the Lake house.
