"Here is your project rubric, Lily," Mr. Thompson, my computer science teacher, says. "And I have to say, your project was the most fascinating project I've ever seen in my years of teaching."
He gives me a wink, "Keep up the good work, kiddo."
"Thanks, Mr. T," I say and smile.
I look at the sheet of paper. A big, fat '100' is at the bottom of the page.
The bell rings and it's time for my second-period class.
I stand up and pack my things.
Thanks for the 'A', Taehyung. You really know how to make a girl happy.
It's been a few days, but my mind keeps replaying the three words that came out of Taehyung's mouth on Monday. Every time I think about it, my heart skips a beat.
"I-I ..." I finally said after being shocked for a minute or two.
"It's okay," he says. "You don't have to say it back. I just want you to know that I do. I do love you."
I'd never had anyone say that to me and vice versa. My heart was finally locked with reassurance; I had no more doubts about Taehyung's feelings for me.
My mind was still dizzy from being intoxicated. Maybe that's why I was so shocked?
Taehyung let go of me and got up from the bed.
"Alright," he says and smiles. "Let's get you some more water, huh?"
I accidentally knock off my pencil from my desk onto the ground, an inch away from Nick Carter's feet. I try to reach for it, but he steps on it as he walks out of the classroom.
Asshole. Whatever. What do I look like picking up a stepped-on pencil?
I leave the pencil on the ground and grab my coffee before leaving.
"Hey, Lily," Bryon says.
He was waiting for me at the door.
"Hey," I say.
I turn to the opposite direction of him and I start walking fast. He catches up to me, though.
"So," he says. "You have any plans for next week? We have the entire week off..."
I nod and smile, "Oh, yeah, I'm going to Japan with my boyfriend."
His face looks surprised.
I should've mentioned Taehyung earlier.
"Oh, uh, wow," he says, fixing his expression. "Yeah, that sounds cool."
I nod and smile again.
"Uh, I gotta go--my class is this way," he says.
"Yeah, bye," I say before he leaves.
I laugh.
You changed up so quickly, Bryon.
I take a sip of my, now cold, coffee. Up ahead in the crowd, I see Daisy struggling to get around the moving people. I catch up and abruptly bump into her.
"Ugh, watch it," I say and smile.
She looks at me then rolls her eyes, "Do you see the coat I have on?"
Oh, please. That's last season's Herno.
"Daisy," I say and scoff. "Do you see what I have on?"
