Nebula and Tony weren't faring too well. Only eating when they were starving, never sleeping by choice, only moving when they really had to.

Nebula found Gamora's room on the ship. That's where she spent most of her time, looking at things that reminded her of what she'd lost.

Tony spent most of his time projecting images and video from his helmet. All the videos he and Peter had taken together to send to May. The vlogs Peter put together at the end of every day. Voicemails. Call logs. Anything that showed Peter's face or captured his voice. Blueprints for suits that would never be made. Not anymore.

He also listened to Pepper. Again, anything with her image, or her voice. He didn't know if she was dead. He sent out a recorded message on the helmet, hoping Pepper might find it. One day. If he ever returns to Earth.

The saltwater dripped onto their clothes and onto the floor. Drip, drip, drip. All day long, until the tears wouldn't fall.

Nebula took herself out of Gamora's room one day, and took to sitting by the window, watching the stars. Fuel was running out. So was food, water, oxygen. They needed to make it back soon.

Suddenly, as Nebula studied the stars, she saw a speck of blue. Then she saw the green and the white as they got closer. "Tony!" she croaked, using her voice for the first time in weeks. Tony came closer and saw Earth. Civilization. Home. Tony chuckled, happy tears falling from his eyes. Nebula bit her lip, knowing that nowhere would ever be "home."

A few hours later they reached Earth and prepared to land. "Where to?" Nebula asked.

Tony thought. "The complex. Downstate." That was the last known location of any remaining Avengers. He knew there was life there, he just didn't know who. Tony out coordinates into the computer and the spaceship landed on the field beside the training center.

Meanwhile, inside the compound...

"I'm getting a reading from the field," Bruce said. "It's a spaceship. Doesn't look of this world."

"Let's go have a look. Come on, Steve, Bruce, Thor," Natasha said. Everyone left up half-heartedly, grabbing their weapons and rushing out the door.

As they got outside, the Avengers saw two figures exiting the ship. They stopped in their tracks and let their guard down. "Tony?" Steve asked in disbelief.

"Steve," Tony cried out, stumbling down the ramp.

Everyone ran towards the spaceship. Tony hobbled along as fast as he could, having not eaten for a few days. He tripped and almost fell, but wrapped his arms around Steve just in time. Then Tony pulled the super soldier closer and started to cry. As much as he hated Steve's guts, he didn't think he'd ever see him again. Steve obviously was thinking something of the sort, as were the others, because they all hugged Tony, some with tears in their eyes, others with tears that made it onto their faces.

Natasha, Bruce, and Thor didn't want to disturb the moment, but wanted to know who the blue woman was. "Hey," Natasha said. You'd think from this statement and the tone of her voice that she had feelings, if you didn't know better.

"Hey, " Nebula said back, biting back the tears that threatened to fall. Natasha saw this and pulled her into a hug, despite not knowing her. Nebula let out a choked sob.

"It's okay to cry," Natasha said, rubbing circles on Nebula's back. This set Nebula off, and saltwater stained Nat's shoulder.

After Steve pulled away from Tony, Thor spoke. "Welcome back, Man of Iron," Thor boomed, a slight smile returning to his face.

"Happy to see you, too, Point Break," Tony said, punching Thor lightly in the arm.

"We thought we'd lost you," Bruce said.

"So did I," Tony chuckled, putting his arm around his Science Bro. Bruce did the same.

Tony smiled at Nat. She smiled back.

"Who are you?" Natasha asked Nebula, wanting to put off asking, knowing it might hurt, but having to ask eventually.

"Nebula. Sister of Gamora," Nebula said, looking Nat straight in the eyes.

"Who is Gamora?" Natasha asked, not knowing the gravity of this statement.

Tony's breath hitched. He began to have flashbacks to that point in the day. Peter. Star-Lord. Drax. Gone. All gone. Bruce seemed to sense this and he turned Tony to face him. Tony's hand was put on Bruce's chest. "Match my breathing, Tony. Breathe," Bruce calmed Tony down, even though Tony was still shaking afterward.

"Oh! Sweet rabbit knows Gamora! If the blue lady is the sister of such a wonderful creature, she must be just as wonderful!" Thor declared.

"That's... the nicest thing I've ever heard!" Nebula cried out as she burst into tears on Nat's shoulder again.

As Tony calmed down, he began to freak out a little bit again. "Pepper! Where's Pepper? Did- did she-"

"Go in and see her, Tony," Steve said, smiling and nodding when Tony's eyes asked the question he couldn't bear to hear coming out of his own mouth.

Tony's eyes lit up, and he began to run at full speed, but forgot how weak he was and his legs crumpled under him. Thankfully, Steve caught him again before he hit the ground.

Steve helped Tony hobble along to go find Pepper. As they walked off, you could hear Tony say: "Geez, Capsicle, you're supposed to be the old, frail one!"

Bruce chuckled. "Tony's back, sass and all."

"Let us take blue lady to the sweet rabbit!" Thor said, excited to further annoy Rocket.

"It's a raccoon," Natasha mumbled to Nebula. The group began to walk. Well, except for Nebula, who hesitated.

When Natasha noticed this, she said, "Come on inside. You're fine." This was exactly what Nebula needed to hear. It was as if Natasha had read her mind.

All of them walked towards the training center as the sun went down. This would prove to be one of the happier nights of the next while.

A/N: It's been a couple of weeks since I touched this story at all. This part of the story will continue, I just felt it was getting pretty lengthy. This is fun and sad to write, but I've been pretty busy lately, and we all know how that is.

I don't know if you read my other stories, not that I care, but on another one of my stories I posted this photo:

So yeah. Ask away. I found this on a story by i_d0nt_feel_s0_g00d (who is pretty awesome by the way, despite my hatred of the username).

We'll get back into the soul stone soon, probably next chapter.

(I feel like I really need a conclusion...)
