"I knew one day you'd fall for someone new, but if he breaks your heart like lovers do just know that I'll be waiting here for you." -Ed Sheeran

"Screw you," I said extremely annoyed.

I was ready to stalk off when he grabbed my arm.

"You should not have escorted yourself last night," my mother warned.

I looked from the guard who was holding me to my mother and father.

I replied, "I was making a statement."

"What you were doing was making a scene. You shall be escorted tonight, especially since tomorrow is the final night. If your mate is not found after 12 when your birthday begins until the gala begins tomorrow night, I will choose your escort and that will be the male who is chosen for you," he said and I didn't even know how to respond.

You would think I had made it clear I wasn't going to do that, but I wasn't going to waste my breath any longer.

I decided just to ignore him as I ripped my arm away from the guard and decided to go find Alpha Isaac as I had told him he could escort me tonight. After I had searched the few areas I knew he frequented I asked for a guard to escort him to me in the courtyard.

I smiled at his nervous face as he kept asking the guard questions. He looked relieved when his eyes landed on me.

"Hello, how are you?" I asked as they neared us.

I dismissed the guard and Alpha Issac replied, "Better, now that I know why I was being escorted. For all, I knew I was off to be beheaded by your father."

I couldn't hide my giggling fit which made him crack a smile.

"No, no beheading. I just wanted to make sure you were still good for escorting me tonight," I said as he sat next to me.

He looked at me as if he was waiting for me to say I was joking. When I didn't say anything he nodded quickly.

"Yes! I mean, yeah. If you want," he said as he began eagerly before trying to act nonchalant.

I giggled once and which caused his smile to grow.

"You know you have a great laugh," he said and I thanked him.

"So would you like to go for a run with me?" I asked as I was dying to put all my frustrations into a run.

"Sure, I've got to meet with your father really quick. How about I meet you down there?" he suggested and I nodded.

I was curious why he had to meet with my father, but did not want to pry by asking.

I made my way outside, I noticed two of the alphas fighting near the woodline that held one of the many training areas. I walked towards them and as I got closer I saw Alexander and two more of the visiting alphas.

"What is going on?" I asked Alexander as I watched the two wolves snarled and nip at one another.

"Your father wanted to watch them all fight, with Alpha Issac, apparently," he said mumbling at the end.

I turned to the balcony to indeed see my father and Alpha Issac concurring with one another. I turned back to see a very annoyed Alexander. A part of me felt sad for him, but another part was annoyed at how jealous he was.

"Well, I'm not going to watch, I've got better things to do," I said before going behind a tree and shifting.

I nudged my clothes behind the tree and walked back out into the field. All the males stopped and watched as I took off. I could tell they wanted to join, but for whatever reason, they didn't. Alpha Isaac, however, did join.
