Everything was silent in the car. I was thinking back to the last time I was on a date. Dates never went well for me.
"What are you thinking about?" Kendall asked, quickly looking at me then back on the road.
"Dates.. they.. um.. they never ended well for me." I said.
"What? Like you never saw each other again? Like there wasn't a second date?" Kendall asked.
"No like something bad always happened." I said.
"Well, nothing bad is going to happen today." Kendall said. He smiled and I looked out the window.
I still didn't believe him, but I wasn't letting him know that.
"Here we are!" Kendall said. I looked and watched him drive it a country club parking lot.
"What are we doing here?" I asked.
"This is where our date is silly." Kendall said.
"You decided to take your sort of girlfriend who is poor to a county club and have her surrounded by the snobbish, the kind of people she hates." I said. He looked at me.
"I know you will be fine." Kendall said.
I wasn't so sure. We walked and everyone starred at me. It had to have something to do with the jeans and shirt I was wearing. Everyone here was in some kind of dress. That's when I noticed Kendall was a little dressed up as well.
"I wish you would have told me there is a dress code." I said.
"Would you have worn a dress if I did?" Kendall asked.
"Not in this life time." I said. Kendall laughed.
"Come on." Kendall said. I smiled and followed him.
