-----------Aubrey's P.O.V

"So what'll be on the menu ? I'm starving and I'm hoping for human food . " I whined as I walk down the endless stairs .

"Don't worry , there'll be plenty of 'human' food . my dad's a werewolf and I'm half with some shapeshifter blood so there'll be at least some real food going on in there . " Judith explained , leading me down a posh corridor . There's huge frames with old looking people framed on it , their eyes swam with my every movement , creeping my eyeballs out.

Suddenly , a fairly delicious scent hitted me , knocking my senses off . Damn where'd that came from ? The sweet scent somehow reminded me of Zack , but it's impossible for him to be here . I mean , this is a vampire party anyways .

"You ready ? " Judith asked , whispering into one of the guard's ears . He then rushed into the ballroom without taking any second glances on me .

"Yeah .. I guess .. " I twitched the hem of my dress , my legs shaking all of a sudden.

She letted out a sigh , placing her cold hand on my shoulder . "you'll be fine . They're going to love you ! Trust me , you're the king's stepdaughter , c'mon , who is not going to love that ? "

I looked around , knowing that I have to face it anyways . "okay then . Let's get this patty started . " I letted out a weak 'yeepee' , pushing open the double doors .

I stood there frozen in place as the people in the room have already have their heads bowed slightly towards my direction . Holy cow I feel like the queen of England .

"Walk . " Judith whispered , pushing me slightly .

I nodded slowly , pulling a smile on my face as I replied the hi's and hellos from the people that I came by with . To say , under their bloodless veins , I still find them kind .

The scent became stronger as I started to silently sniff out the owner of the delicious scent .

"What are you doing ? " Judith whisper-yelled , tugging at the hem of my dress from the back .

"Nothing . " I whispered back , taking a few step forwards as the strong scent seemed to come closer . My eyes swept across the crowd , looking for my father as he told me how I'm going to have to sit with him tonight .

My gaze dropped at the golden framed table , almost taking my heart away from me at the same time . What the hell is he doing here ?

My eyes went wild , quickly looking away as I tried to calm myself down . Deep breath Aubrey , deep , long , breath .

'Mate . ' Violette howled , almost making me flintch . Dammit dog will you shut it ? I'm thinking over here .

Maybe I should just pretend that I don't know him , that I'm still in amnesia ? Amnesia , I like that plan . Damn I'm smart .

I walked towards the table , trying to be calm as half the people in the room hadn't tear their eyes off me .

"Hey dad . " I gave him a hug and kissed him on the cheeks , followed by my mom . It's still actually quite weird to call him 'dad' since I'd never have a dad before . That motherfucking douche left my mom after she got pregnant with me . Well at least Travis saw him before , but he's too young to remember anything.

I can actually feel Zack's eyes burning a hole at the side of my face at the current moment but I tried to brush it off as I sat down beside Lexile . Judith took a seat beside what looked like her parents for their close resemblance in judgement . Jeez her mom looked younger than her , like seriously is that her sister ?
