Ingrid's POV
After that discussion, the ride back to William's manor was a quiet one, void of any talk other than the occasional sigh. I still felt though the disdain William's mother had for me even if she wasn't looking in my direction. I wonder if she is like this to every girl her son brings home.
As the thought crossed my mind, another came. William is a ladies man. From what I heard from Miguel and from the way Gloria knew him, he has to be. I do not mind him talking with other women but if he goes out and out right fucks others than me, I swear to the all father I will castrate him.
...So I have to make him know he is mine. Make him feel like I am the only woman he can feel the most pleasure to, me and me alone.
Perhaps I should...
William's POV
I turn to Ingrid and notice a small smile on her face. What is she thinking? Of home? Maybe.
"Do you miss home?" I ask her. She turns to me and glides her hand over her braids and sighs.
"I do, yes but... the people will be fine without me for a few days. We are strong, fearless. They'll survive"
"You have a lot of faith in them don't you?" I commented
"Why wouldn't I? We survive in a nearly iced over forest and breed many strong children and warriors. If that isn't enough to have faith in your people, I don't know what will but..."
I cock my eyebrow at her, listening to what she will say.
"...we are also a very stubborn bunch and hot headed which worries me a little but with people like Stigandr leading them, I am confident they will be fine"
I lean into my seat and think another thought, one involving Stigandr, Cross, and Ayu and their goal- their goal of peace. One might say that it is just wishful thinking to dream of peace. To dream that all the fighting will stop. Perhaps it is.
But what if it IS possible?
I look out my window and notice that we were closing in my home.
"We're almost home"
"We're almost to YOUR home" she corrected.
"...right"
Our carriage stops right in front of the gate and the two guards in front rush over to open our doors. We gave our thanks and they nod in return as we walk to the front door. As we walked, I heard one of the guard gasp and I turn to see guard looking at Ingrid. She indicated to the other guard and they gasp as well albeit quieter than the former.
I shrug it off and continue walking. My mom opens the door and as we walk in, I look at Ingrid to see her look at everything around. From the century old paintings to the intricate rug underneath us, she looked at everything. It was pretty cute just seeing her in awe.
"All right... Ingrid let me show you to your room. Come"
"Actually mom, I was thinking she could sleep with me. That is if you are all right with it Ingrid" I said as I shifted my direction from my mom to Ingrid.
"I'm good with it" she said quickly.
"All right, lets go"
I looked at my mom and saw her expression was one of slight anger. I sigh slightly. I don't want to make mom angry but she need to get used to this, used to Ingrid. She still doesn't trust her but I do. Maybe if I can show her how special Ingrid was, she'll change her view, at least a little bit.
It would be heaven if for once she approves of her.
