Annabeth's POV

Great. Fucking great. Beatrice, my stepmother or stepmonster how I prefer to call her, just decided that we don't have food for dinner and made me go to the store for groceries. There were these guys taking out suitcases out of a taxicab. Meh, not that it's neither my business or I care.

I got the food and walked home. Then someone that it's very "lovely" (note the sarcasm) crossed my path. Emma Groves. Imagine a life action version of Barbie, but bitchy and dressing like a slut. That my friends, is Emma Groves. "Hello Annie."

I walked past her. It was a Sunday on 5:45 p.m. and the last thing I needed was her taunting me AGAIN. "Aww, little Annie doesn't want to realize how fat she is? Or is it the fact that she is an ugly nerd?"

I just wanted to punch her, right in front of everybody. Fortunately, my friend Thalia came to my rescue. "Oh Gosh, Emma don't you get tired of messing with people just because you know they're way better than you?" She said talking like Emma did.

"Annabeth? Better than me?"

"Emma, stop pretending you're deaf. Even my grandma, who is in the other side of the country heard that."

"Whatever!" Emma yelled as she flipped her hair and walked the opposite direction.

"Thanks Thals."

"Anything for my friends." She said as she winked me.

I giggled a little. "Let's get you home, you don't want Beatrice mad,do you?"

I got into Thalia's jeep and she drove me to my apartment building. "Thanks Thals!"

"Anytime."

I got into my apartment. "I'm home guys!" I yelled.

My lovely 2 brothers and my baby sister ran to me. I hugged them and left the groceries on the floor while I picked my sister, Elizabeth. "Where's Beatrice?" Yes, even her own children hate her. Beatrice has never taken the role of a mother. Not even for Elizabeth.

"She went to the nail salon and then to the club. She said she won't be home until 4 a.m. approximately" Bobby replied.

"What do you guys want for dinner?" I asked before putting my sister on the sofa and turning on her favourite cartoon show.

"Mac and cheese!" Bobby and Matthew yelled at the same time.

I laughed. "Mac and cheese it is."

I made the dinner and opened a bottle of baby food for Elizabeth. We had dinner and by the end they were exhausted.

"Come on guys. Time for bed" I said as I tucked them in and kissed their foreheads. I took the snoring Elizabeth on my arms and sang to her as I took her to my room. Bobby and Matthew share a room. Me and Elizabeth share another one.

I placed Elizabeth gently on her cradle and covered her with a blanket and gave her my owl plushie. I got into my pajamas and fell asleep as my head hit the pillow. This was an everyday activity for me.
