The singer and the nerd

Chapter 5~

Annabeth's POV

A few minutes after I arrived to school, my best friend, Nico walked over to me with his guitar on his back. Only he and my friends knew I could sing. "Hey Annie!" He said.

His face was usually emotionless but the tone on his voice reassured you he was had feelings. "Hey Neeks!"

"What's up?" He said before sitting next to me.

"Nothing much."

"What are you singing?"

"Eye of the Needle by Sia."

"Great! Me and Bianca have been practicing by Skype."

Bianca, his sister, was also my bestie but she was studying college in Italy. At first, it hit Nico really hard, but eventually he got used to it.

"Wanna do a cover?"

"Hell yeah I do!"

"Which song?"

"How about....Marry Me by Jason Derulo?"

"Sounds good to me"

"Okay" I sighed "Here we go....

105 is the number that goes through my head

When I think of all the years 

I wanna be with you

wake up every morning with you in my bed

That's precisely what I plan to do..."

We kept singing until the bell rang at 8:05. Damn it! We were doing so well.

 I walked to my locker and took out my books for the next 3 periods and my favourite book: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

It was like the 3rd time I reread it but the story was so good I was going for a fourth one.

Anyways, I was reading when a male voice asked me where Mr. Brunner's class was. "Down the hall to the left" I said, not even taking my view of the book.

"Thanks!"

"No problem." I said before disappearing. If there's something I hate, it would have to be socialising with people. Boys specially, you might be like "But then how come Nico is your best friend?" Because Nico is gay.

He's amazing and if he was heterosexual, I know he would never break my heart like Luke did.

I went to my home room class. Which was also Mr. Brunner's too. I sat at my usual spot and began reading again. My other besties; Piper, Thalia, Calypso, Hazel and Nico walked and sat around me.

"Psst.. Annie?"

"What Pipes?"

"I heard that The Olympians are here" she said just as we all rolled our eyes. I admit they were handsome and they sang really well but they were just not our favourite. Besides mostly everyone who knew them only knew the songs about love and how they were searching for a girl to be with them and they loved their looks. That is why Sia is my favourite singer. She wants people to appreciate her because of her music not because how she looks. 

I put my earbuds on one of my ears so I would be able to pay to attention to class. "Hello kids! Today we have 5 new students"
