Annabeth's POV

I was finishing the first chapter of my book while Let Me Down Slowly from Alec Benjamin blasted through one of my ears when Mr. Brunner asked us to look at the board. I quickly took out my notebook and my pen, preparing to copy whatever was on the board at the speed of light  when I realized that there wasn't anything to copy, just new students. "Okay kids, please look at the board!"

"These are Percy, Jason, Frank, Leo and Will. Your new classmates. I suppose they know that even though they are pretty famous, they will be treated equally to you guys."

They all nodded and smiled. I focused on Percy's eyes. They were green as the Mediterranean sea and peculiarly sparkled to the point I blushed.

I hid it by looking down and focusing on my book again. Oh my, his eyes....

Stop it Annabeth! He's a jerk and you know that

But his eyes

Get a hold of yourself woman! This is not you.

I quickly scold myself and focus on class. Finally it's time for lunch. The bell rings and I rush out of the class to keep my backpack and take out my lunch. Leftovers from Friday: beef with a little gravy, rice and a couple of baked asparagus sticks. I walk to our table and I sit waiting for the others. Then Emma shows up "Hello Annie!"

"What now, Emma?" I whine. I'm simply done with her.

"Do you know who's in our school?"

"Nope. Nor I care." I snap quickly, yet honestly.

"You know who's Percy Jackson?"

"Not a clue." I say as I roll my eyes.

"Do you live under a rock? Or do you seriously not know who he is?"

"The last one would be the correct answer." I sigh

"Now can I please eat my lunch? Thank you" I snap before she can tell me to stay away from him.

"You'll regret this, Chase" She hisses before flipping her hair and walking the opposite direction.

Finally my friends come and I find Thalia hugging the Jason guy tightly while his friends hold trays to sit with us. "Hey guys!"

"I see you've already made a friend" Hazel says.

"Oh him? I present you guys my cute lil' bro!"

Piper's eyes seemed a little relieved after she said he was her brother. "These are his friends! Can they sit with us?"

I give her a look like 'Oh no! Please don't'. She does that evil grin she draws on her lips every time she wants to annoy us. "Annabeth says you can."

I glare at her before I focuse on my book and my food again. I looked up for a second to meet a pair of sparkling, sea green eyes before turning my head away.

I scold myself again and remind me that if I ever fell for him, I wouldn't stand a chance with a singer like him.

No one will ever love you! Emma and Beatrice's voice echoes through my head. I sigh and eat quietly. I begin to think about Percy again. Stop it Annabeth! Focus on studies and helping your siblings to go on. Adding a boyfriend would come with so much unwanted drama.

Mom would say otherwise.....

Shut up! Mom died 10 years ago...

I quickly remind myself. I bit my tongue to hold back the tears, I don't pronounce a word, because my friends know my voice gets lower when I'm about to burst into tears.

I sneakily look to Percy again. He's laughing really hard at a joke Frank said. He's so cute! Then I remember how  3 hours ago I was hissing at The Olympians mention.

I then found myself blushing at a raven haired, tall boy with sea green eyes, knowing that not even in a billion years I would stand a chance with someone like him.
